She said, "You know back then, you had low self-esteem, I hope you know that right, but I am proud of you and how much you've worked on yourself to become a better version of yourself, I wouldn't know who is the brain behind that, or perhaps it is just you realizing that you needed to do some work on yourself and working towards that but regardless, I am proud of that"

Those were the words my favorite and good friend told me a few years back, and I was shocked because I never knew that she saw and knew that part of me I hid away from the world. To the world, I was the tough, brave, smart, intelligent strong girl who was vocal, knew what she wanted, and stood for what she wanted, they never knew that I was fighting my hidden battles, they never knew that I was a mess myself who needed help as well.

I was the go-to, the run-to, the talk-to for many people who needed a mouth, a listening ear, a hand to guide, and a shoulder to lean on and I was always ready to give encouragement and guide them however I could but there I was suffering, fighting my own battles. Well, I could say only one person knew me more back then, that one person I always ran to any time I was at my lowest and confided in, and I thought he was the only person who knew and saw that part of my fragile and vulnerable self, not until my friend told me this.

The one book I read that had an impact on me is "The Confident Woman" and for whatever reason, this book was given to me by a friend to read, it was the first motivational/inspirational book that I have ever read as a young girl and that is because I was never a lover of this kind of books, so back then, if you check my book cupboard, you never see any of such books, because I did use to believe that most of these writers, never wrote their books to fit the reality of others, they write their reality and never take a glance at the reality of life from others perspective.

When I stumbled upon Joyce Meyer's book titled "The Confident Woman" I realized that I was unfairly judging every book because of a bad encounter with one or a few. I was more of a lover of novels, novels that kept my mind busy and helped me think out of the box.

"The Confident Woman" by "Joyce Meyers" changed my life and gave me a different perspective towards my life and life at large, it made me see that I could take the world and take my life with a different approach and reasoning. Nowadays, find myself smiling at the lady in front of the mirror whenever I look at the mirror because I know I can get on through life confidently, I find myself smiling at myself when I can boldly talk about my flaws, my strengths, my interests, and my weaknesses.

I smile more at myself when I see myself not looking down at myself because I know that I am proud of myself and how far I have come, and because I see and acknowledge my struggles and challenges and don't give a hoot if some other people don't. I blush at myself when I realize that I moved from not knowing myself to knowing more about myself and what keeps me going and happy.

I find myself mesmerized by how confident and bold I have grown and been over the years and could hear my opinions in a gathering if I choose to and that is as a result of this book I read, and just a few days ago, someone asked me if I had the book, that she would love to read it.

The New York Times Bestseller talked about the edification of every woman in society, how we are meant to live boldly and without fear, how we are meant to be confident in ourselves and take away self-doubt, how we are meant to work on ourselves and become the woman we want to be not for anyone but for ourselves. How we can set goals for ourselves make hare, how to overcome low self-esteem and self-doubt.

It talked about understanding that God has a use for us anywhere and everywhere same way he has use for men, so we shouldn't look down on ourselves or think low of ourselves. It talked about how we can do away with fear and start living a life of courage and confidence living the life we wish for ourselves and staying positive regardless of how life turns. So yeah, The Confident Woman was the first book I read that changed my perspective and helped me work on myself to become a better me now.

So you also have this book as well. I love all of Joyce Meyer's books. They are truly amazing. She has a way of shinning light into the darkest parts of our being with her faith inspired words. I have this book both as hardcopy and e-book, because I like it so much.

Whenever I forget my self or my reason for living or when I feel down and don't trust myself, I'll simply flip open this book and boom! Like magic, I get back on my feet.

God indeed has use for each and every one of us. No one is left out. We can rise to our full potential in God.

She is an amazing writer. Well done 👍

This Joyce Meyer's book is a different kind of therapy. In chapter ten, she encouraged women to break away from other people's expectations as people except them to keep them happy and give them what they want.Be your own person! Do what God expects you to do and don't live under the tyranny of people's expectations. Also having firm opinions of your own and not being open to gaslighting.
It's a must read for every woman, teaches you to believe in yourself and refuse to be intimidated
