I spent most of my childhood years living with Grandma. This is as a result of the circumstance which surrounded my birth. While growing up, I never knew my mum was my mum. I thought she is my elder sister and this led to me calling her by her name till today. When I was in primary school, my mum was in the university. When I entered Secondary School, she got married. Although I was later told that she is my mom, the relationship which existed between mother and child was absent as I was usually fond of Grandma.
At some point in my life, I thought she never loved me, or even cared. Thus, I began to develop some kind of hatred towards her, and I also believed all the negative things other members of the family do say about her that are not entirely true. Sometimes, I shout at her or even act very rude towards her.
Not until recently do I have the opportunity to live with her for months. I discovered who she truly is because she sat me down to explain all that happened - my birth, and other reasons why she took some particular decisions. I knew how much she loves me. Staying with her for a few months, I had achieved and acquired some of the things I've been longing to have for years now. This made me so happy.
As a result of this, I would get her a gift this year. Actually, I've never bought a gift for someone and this would be my first time. The gift would be a special one from my heart to make up for all the days I never got to truly love her, and to bring a long lasting bond and affection between mother and child.

STOPGiving your first gift ever to your mom is a beautiful thing. Gifting her would be a way to show that you do love her, which I am sure will do the magic in her heart.
