The year 2025 has just started and for most people, myself inclusive we really wish and hope that 2025 will be the year where we will have our biggest breakthroughs, such as attaining financial stability and independence, bagging that degree, getting awarded that contract, being given that long-awaited visa, getting married, buying our first or second property as the case may be, getting that job in a multinational company and the list of all that we hope for is endless.
In the quest of making sure that all we desire and hope for comes to us, most of us have made resolutions, and written down our goals and the strategies that we intend to employ to achieve all these, while there are still some of us who are still trying to figure out what practical steps and approach we need to take to ensure that all we want to achieve in 2025 comes to us.
For me, I recently graduated from College in December last year, and having studied Pharmacy, it is required that I undertake a compulsory one-year internship after graduation before I would be given my permanent license to practice. So the struggle to get an internship placement has begun.
While a student I was usually told by my colleagues in older classes how difficult and sometimes challenging to secure an internship placement after graduation is for most people. The endless applications to various organizations and them promising to call you for an interview, but that call most times never comes. Sometimes, even after the interview, some people would still not be shortlisted for employment. Along the line people get frustrated and depressed having waited for so long and not being able to secure an internship position. This may in turn result to them missing job opportunities that may come their way because they haven't gotten their license.
Armed with all these information, immediately after I rounded up my course work I started applying for internship positions, oh boy it hasn't been easy; some organizations have promised to call me when they have scheduled a date for my interview, while others haven't responded to my numerous mails. The reality of life after graduation has started hitting me.
The one thing that would make 2025 my best year would be securing an internship placement in a renowned health organization such as a Hospital, be it a private, state or federal hospital, a Pharmaceutical industry, a Government agency or parastatal, a top community Pharmacy or an international health organization.
Securing an internship position would be my biggest breakthrough for the year as it would signify a major growth and advancement for me in my career, and it would equip me with the requisite skills and experience to take up bigger job roles in the future.
I am optimistic and hopeful that it will happen this year and it won't be delayed. While waiting for that, I am ecstatic and excited for all that 2025 has in store for me. I am taking it one step at a time. This year, I have resolved to take self-development very seriously, and I am making a conscious effort to see to it that I achieve it. I know it won't be easy, and many distractions may set in, but I know with sheer determination and an unbroken focus, I will be able to achieve it.
So there you have it Hiveans this is what I want the most for 2025 in order for it to be a beautiful year for me. I am hopeful that it would come, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and waiting patiently while also putting in the work. I want to savor every moment as it comes. I would also love to hear from my fellow Hiveans what we each desire the most for 2025.

2025 is definitely a year of achievements if well maximised and planned. You will definitely get the internship this year and it will be at one of the best health organizations out there.
