Hey lovelies, it's been a minute since I've been here, trust you all are doing good.

How has your perspective on life changed over time?

Life is a mystery, sometimes it can seem easy when you have everything going well for you until you get to the point when something goes wrong, and then you begin to understand that life isn't as straightforward as it seems sometimes.

Growing up I had this notion that one had to grow, live life, and then get a ripe old age before death catches up with you. I used to think this way, not until a neighbor who lived in our neighborhood suddenly passed on without any trace or hint of illness.

I remember the scenario so vividly, it was a festive period, the Christmas season to be precise. I and my siblings were really fond of this said neighbor, she was a lovely fellow, one you would always want to be around, sometimes my siblings envied her children because of how cool their mum was with them.

Aunty Joy was always one to hail and sing your praises whenever you wore a beautiful dress or made a new hair, she would tell you how lovely you looked, and during those periods, I couldn't help but blush all the way.

So it happened that we had closed school for the holidays, I and my siblings were taken to where we had to get our hair done, we chose very beautiful hairstyles, and I jokingly told my sister that when we got home Aunty Joy would not stop singing our praises because of the hairstyle, and we all laughed about it.

That very morning on our way out, we saw Aunty Joy, when she asked where we were headed, we told her, and she teased us about how beautiful we would look with our new hairstyles.

By the time we got back, we saw a lot of people gathered at Aunty Joy's house, and the demeanor of the people that surrounded her house wasn't pleasing, they looked really gloomy, I even saw someone crying, I began wondering what the problem was, why people gathered around her house, what could have happened, these and many more ran through my head.

I quickly ran to my dad and asked what was with the whole crowd at Aunty Joy's apartment, it was then he broke it to me that she collapsed and just before help could come or before taking her to the hospital, she passed on.

A cold shiver ran down my spine when I heard the sad news from my dad, I could not believe that she was gone, and then I got to hear the most devastating news of all that she was expecting a baby, but she was still in her first trimester and it hadn't really started showing.

Ever since then, my perspective on life changed. Live your life as much as you can, because at any time we may be called back home, as much as most of us don't pray for untimely death, we never can tell how much time we have left on the earth, so why waste this precious time living life with some much caution and not doing the things you want to do.

The quality of life you're living now, will you be proud of it if you look back years later??? I'm not talking about money now, although I know money is a major factor to consider when talking about the quality of life one lives.
Some people are just so scared of living their lives, they don't try new things, they don't explore places or things, they are just there letting life pass them by. This person used to be me, but I'm gradually walking out of it and I advise anyone in such a shoe should try as much as possible to walk out.

Thank you for stopping by, what perspective about life has changed with time or situation, I would like to hear from you in the comments.
