A SMOOTH TRANSITION

Holidays are my favorite days. For the just concluded holiday, I had double thoughts about traveling home or staying back at school to prepare for my exams that was to happen a week after school resumed. Well, in the end I travelled back home and I’m so happy I did. I got the opportunity to rest, eat and spend time with family too, especially our little Jesse, the newest family member, hehe.

The holiday lasted for 2 weeks and it was a handful for me, I made the most of it and when it was time for me to return back to school, I was excited about it even though I wished I could stay a little longer at some point but then, I loved the thought of resuming because I just wanted to get it over and done with. Luckily for me, I was able to carry some food stuffs that will last me for at least two weeks after resumption, yay.

The transition was a smooth one. Going for the holiday and returning back to school. It was all as I wanted it. My plan was to read my books at least 5 times in the week during my holiday and I was able to achieve that. Also, I promised myself to eat well too and I did that. At some point I almost got tired of eating because I usually find out that I skip my lunch and sometimes dinner but this time, I did better.

I remembered the first thing I did when I got to my hostel in school was to clean up everywhere because it was so dusty. I arranged it before leaving so it was just the dust that was the problem but I had to scatter the whole place so I could clean it thoroughly again. It took me about an hour to finish and by the time I was done, I became even more tired, beginning from the stress of standing at the park while waiting for the vehicle to come.

Immediately I was done cleaning, I felt at home again and I went out to get what to prepare for dinner before retiring to bed that night. And interestingly, before I slept that night, the class update for the next day was out. According to the update, we were supposed to have over 4 classes but in the end, we had just two of them. So the transition was really fast and smooth. At some point I even forget I went home for the holiday. I only get reminded of it when I scroll through my gallery.

Now that I’m back to school, I also had some things I wasn’t able to complete in school before the holidays so I quickly resumed with them and luckily for me, I have been able to complete them. And just yesterday, my exams started and I’ll be ending mine on the 29th of January. The exams are happening simultaneously and it’s a bit choking but I’m trusting God to see us all through it as he has always done.

The routine is not the usual one though because now I no longer have classes just exams, which for me is better than going for classes that might not never hold. But over all, I have blended back to how things have always been and I’m quite excited about it. This would be the final exam before I’ll move to a new level and I’m really so grateful to God and the amazing people he sent my way. It hasn’t been easy at all but here we are almost at the next level, hehe.

This is my response to the hivenaija prompt. Feel free to check it out and participate if you can. Thank you for reading through. ❤️
