A Memorable Hive Lagos Hangout: Building Connections and Rekindling Friendships

Before I let procrastination eat me up, I decided to write about this hangout and not let the thrill of it leave my body. So last year, I talked to Trojan, and we decided that he host a Lagos Hangout where we can invite friends on Hive, get to meet each other and also know ourselves personally. So here is how the day went for me!

The day began with @fashtioluwa, @corneliushym and myself. We live not too far from each other, so we decided to meet at a central stop so that we can journey to the location together. We met at an agreed time, and but I had to be waiting for these two birds; they were the cause of the delay and why we got to the location before the planned time 😉😜. As a cool person, I was chill with them about it. 😂

Anyways, when we got there, it felt like we were early because only @trojan and @tresuree were around. It was the first time meeting @treasuree in person and I am so glad to have met her. She is a happy and very friendly person. She was smiling most of the time she was around and her energy was radiant.

Seeing how I look in this image makes me remember how I didn't plan myself well to visit the hangout. My glasses went missing and I also didn't take my preferred clothes while I was travelling all the way from Ibadan. So I just opted for the best optin available. If not, I would have come around dripping to the hangout.

At the hangout, the first activity we had was introducing ourselves and saying what we hoped for in the hangout. My reply to the question was simply to get to meet and connect with people. And truly, I achieved that. We were all able to have fun with each other and share our thoughts.

@trojan had a game for us where he wrote different questions on paper and asked us to share our views on that question. This game led to a whole lot of idea sharing and really built up conversations between us.

Here is the question I was asked about:

The truth is, I actually did not have a straight-up answer; I just had to think about it in a moment and say how I really deeply felt if I would define success. I did not even know if anything I said made sense; I just hoped they would understand. So if you were in the hangout, did what I said make any sense at all?

Another session was when I was asked questions about Hive and I was sharing what I thought and tips about Hive. I can't remember all I said but one thing I can remember is to make sure to provide value and learn to contribute to community activities that it pays in the long run. And also, you know all those statements about Hive, "not being a get rich quick scheme talk." Yeah, I spoke about that too.

We had Obaro, who gave some talks about the music community as per the music geeks around. Obaro came with a lot of vibes, also with fash. And it felt as if they came to fish woman in the hangout 😅

I got to have a great time hanging out with @winanda. I found her to be very cool, mature, and someone who loves baking. I think she was the most quiet until the last set of people came in, who were not on Hive before but got their account created later. I don't know the account usernames though, but their names are Esther and Seun.

Also, I met @zita, and she's just as smart as she is cute! She is also a fun person, like Treasure. What I can remember about her is that she works as a nurse (if I am not wrong).

There is also @tenesha, the pretty lady with the beautiful voice. We have been friends right from school, and she is one of the people my onboardees onboarded. I am more like a Godfather, as @sekani would say it.

Also not forgetting Ifunaya, who studied accounting (I think). She is new also and also joined Hive that day, onboarded by Trojan. She vibes with us pretty well and knows how to express herself really well. She did give us the vibe.

While the others have been my gees for a long time, @trojan, @obaro, and Miracle. The main reason for coming to the hangout was to meet with them again. I had not seen Obaro and Miracle for almost 7 years, and that day was the nostalgic moment of meeting my guys again. It had been a long time since we vibed together in the same room.

The day ended really well. I was glad I attended. It was really a great way to start the year.
