The era of playing love by running around trees has been dumped by technology, oh! Innocent trees, they were always gazing in jealousy hoping to find their own true love. I am just getting to imagine how love was during that era, our Nollywood has given us that clue to see what love looks like before technology came into play.
The existence of technology has brought about love beyond measures and age, even children of 14 years of age are already in a serious relationship and are filled with experiences that a 20 year old then (before technology) doesn't have. An underage relationship was very rare then as you would we very scared to tell your family or friends that you are in a relationship, this now looks normal at this present age.

You can't track down a child's movements to know what the child does, it all boils down to his activities on phone. The love narrative is completely different from what we used to have then but it's all good if we look at it from the safe side.
People in long distance relationships then, were not comfortable as they couldn't see or talk to their love ones often, this had a way to gradually eat up the love they had. Some even end up not seeing each other for years. This problem has been solved by technology, there's social media, they're phone calls and videos calls which keeps the the love alive, this has eaten up the boring kind of love people were involved in.
Many strangers, now lovers were linked up through technology. They just texted "Hello" and that's it, years later or months they're married. I don't know how I should type my Hello next time, lol. I see new lovers on call for like 5 hours and still running and I keep wondering what they're always talking about about. They will just pick up things they're are not supposed to, under the influence of love during the call.

Love during the era is quite better as you will be receiving love texts every morning, having the reminder that the love you both possess is still supreme. Technology has also played a big part in oppressing us, while scrolling peacefully through status, we will be caught smiling in 4k as we view the lover birds status. It's all okay cos we see the tears as well.
I just think that the love then was a genuine and much better love than what we have now, why? Most times constant conversations and meetups brings up a lot of issues, probably "see finish" and this has caused a lot of problems in relationships. The communication rate then was minimal, and anytime they were able to meet and talk they cherish that moment so much and the love keeps growing. Anytime they're oppurtuned to meet each other, they cherish the moments. Looking at the current relationships, constant conversations and meetups had made relationships already boring, it only takes true love and loyalty to keep the relationship going.

So to say, the love before technology was long lasting and genuine, but the love during this technology era is much better based on means of keeping up with your partner, it is all left for you to keep it real and genuine to make it last long.

It's a wonder how relationships back then lasted longer than relationships nowadays even with the ease in communication but like you said, it's left for us to make ours work.
