Life is unpredictable, and nobody knows what will happen next. Everyone wants to know more about the future, but we know that it's kind of an impossible thing, as time travel is not possible at the current time. What if we knew about the future? What would we do in that case?
I am quite sure we would try to change the future if we knew something bad was going to happen to us in the upcoming moments. That kind of thinking is not abnormal in my opinion. Whatever the fact is, we don't know our future, and so there is no chance of thinking to change it. It's right we don't know the future, but what if there is a possibility to predict the future, although not 100% sure?
I think you got the point. I am talking about astrology and zodiac signs. I have heard about it since childhood, and I have seen many people trust those things. There are many experts on astrology and zodiac signs even in the current time, and people still believe it. Let me share about it when I read about the zodiac sign for the first time in a newspaper. On that day, based on the information, my luck was not good, and I faced a little unexpected trouble, and from that day I started to believe in astrology and zodiac signs. At that time I was in class 6, and I started to follow the zodiac signs regularly, and I tried to find similarities with my daily life, and somehow I could relate to those things with my daily life.
When I grew up, I started to know more about science, and I realized that these things are not scientific, and my trust started to fade from the astrology and zodiac signs. The reason was quite simple. In the earlier time, I believed it because each time I tried to relate it forcefully. It's like clouds. Let me explain how. Suppose I see (imagine) a dragon shape in clouds and at the same time another person sees the shape as a dinosaur. Again, someone else sees it as a dog also. It's a similar thing, but 3 people think about it differently, and everyone is right also because that's how they imagine it. It means people can relate anything with a thing when they want, and it happened in my childhood in the case of astrology and zodiac signs.
Later I realized that the future of humans mostly depends on the actions of the present time. If I work hard in smart ways in the current time, there is a maximum possibility of achieving success in the future, as it's the consequence of present action. If I do things carefully, the chance of facing trouble is minimal, and that's the reality. Sometimes exceptions happen, but most of the time it's the result of past consequences. Later I read many times about bad luck and trouble based on astrology and zodiac signs, but I didn't face any. In fact, some days were quite good for me. So, it's not realistic and not scientific, and I am the proof of it.
Still, some people believe it, and I think the reason is quite simple. They think they are not capable enough to bring the outcome that they want except by relying on astrology and zodiac signs. Again, sometimes, the helplessness of humans can be a reason to believe those, although I don't believe in it.

I used to read Zodiac signs/predictions when I was in my teens. It's crazy how some things appear they were meant for me, !LOL
But we have our own beliefs so I'm not judging those who believe in it

We all have our preferences and some may choose to believe in astrology and zodiac signs, for me, I have never believed such, perhaps didn't just concentrate on that. Whatever happens, it happens.
Yeah I was religious with keeping up with my horoscope. Not anymore. It is quite bullshit and I believe that the stars are somehow aligned with births and all, because in the old days, that was how the scholars and wise men told time as clocks and technology didn't exist. What I don't believe is that it can make us see the future. As you said, there is no backed up scientific evidence and besides, the future has way too many variables for one vague and cryptic reading to be it.
Hmm. I think in this digital world there is no way to believe such kind of thing but I have no objection if anyone believe those thing as it doesn't bring any harm to me.
