Will I be able to overcome it? That was the question I dreaded to ask myself in-between the Red Sea. Even when my parents were still kicking against it, my voice was once again higher. One thing about it is I love to plan myself ahead, I live for the moment but then I think about what happens next in a few weeks to come. This was me when I was applying for my internship program. I had successfully sent out my documents before informing my parents.

The state, coupled with the distance, they will always say no and give me reasons why I shouldn't go, but then I was prepared and resilient this time. For someone who hasn't left home for a while, I was scared not just about that but also about the financial aspect of it all.
What if my parents disappoint me? How do I sort out my financial needs? How do I intend to cope with chasing after what I want knowing that money is going to be an obstacle? I thought about this closely, which is why I chose to save some money. I don't want to be taken unawares and then get this compensating advice that next year is going to be better.
That's my parents' usual comforting words. This was my first internship. It is similar to finding admission into a university. One year is already gone, which has affected me so much. I saw my coursemate doing theirs while I was home doing nothing. One year elapsed while waiting for funds from my parents, and yet it seems like nothing was coming by.
My parents asked me how I was going to pay for the transportation, who I was going to stay with for the exams, and the feeding. This was majorly my obstacle at hand, and I was left alone to sort myself. Unexpected things come up, especially when you save with the little fund I had at hand. I have to get my needs done, and successfully I went to three different states to write the exams, and successfully it didn't work because my name never came out from these three states I went to. I was beginning to get all frustrated, but then I never regretted going to these states.
For me it was an opportunity to explore more, and I made sure I made good use of that opportunity. I wish to travel more, but then my head focuses on ending this schooling I started 10 years ago, which is yet to end, but I never doubt myself one bit on my capacity to pass those exams.
I actually prepared for them staying awake all night reading, but nevertheless it didn't work, and I have to make peace with taking my mind off it and just focus on building myself in order. Imagine using your last card to learn a course. I could remember that was what I did then, and each morning I put a smile on my face and pushed every negative thought away.
