If it were the previous me that I decided to leave behind, Valentine's Day is something I wouldn't usually give attention to because it appeared to be meaningless to me, especially with the way people in my country go about it. But now, things have changed, and I see Valentine's Day differently, far from what I used to see or feel.
To me, Valentine's Day is about sharing love in all dimensions, as long as the heart is open to doing so. I am not going to explain what we were opportune to read in the days of secondary school about the origin of Valentine's Day. In fact, I read many contradicting stories, and I don't know which one to believe.
Valentine's Day is a day meant for lovers to strengthen their bonds through gifting, sharing nice moments, and confessing love. Some even go further, especially the married ones, to renew their marital vows. But it's not just about romantic love; it's also a day to send love to people who may not feel loved enough. This includes family members and friends, just a day of love in all its forms.
The only problem currently is that people have turned it into something else, where it's now primarily about romance. Everyone wants to get romantic on that day, which leads to a lot of things, I mean, a lot of bad things. I'm sure that as you are reading this, you already know what I'm talking about.
This year's Valentine's Day, I am planning to take a different approach, unlike before when I never gave it attention. I am someone who has not been giving love and relationships a real chance to explore. I usually leave a relationship whenever I notice the slightest shake or mistrust. But this time around, just as I wrote in one of my recent articles about my New Year’s resolutions, I am maintaining and keeping a relationship. And this Valentine's, I am going to spend it with my special person.
We are not going to do much. We will go out in the evening to an eatery after the hustle and bustle of the day to sit, have a meal, a drink, chitchat, and laugh out loud. We will be there early and spend at least four hours together. The financial budget is not going to be much, as the lady is very understanding. It will just be some plates of rice, turkey, and salad, coupled with a soft drink. Maybe small chops will be added to the list, depending on how accommodating our stomachs will be.
After that, we will leave for my house to spend the night there. In case you are already thinking far, come back, because nothing is going to happen. We are just going to stay together, enjoy each other's company with long night talks, and sleep off if the gist permits us. Lol.
So that's it, nothing more. It's going to end like that, and we hope to keep the love burning beyond just the Valentine's Day celebration.

Yeah, there are many histories surrounding valentine so it's best to just do what we think is cool.
