"Back to the music: Rediscovering Drumming After a Long Break"

in Hive Naijayesterday

HELLO HIVE

There are times when we find ourselves in places we didn't plan to find ourselves in, place like this feel like dark places that has completely erased something about us that makes us express ourselves with positives vibes the moment we start doing them.

I picked up drumming when I was 17years old then I joined the choir at a point where there was no one playing the drums at that time, with this freedom and the belief that was placed in me i was able to grow gradually to a certain level until an unplanned break 💔 came from discrepancy in belief about how things should and shouldn't be done in the choir at that point but the effect of things meant that I had to leave the choir which stopped me from playing for a while.

Now in a new environment and a different push all of a sudden I find myself playing drums and enjoying myself in such a way that I had not in a while.

It felt weird at that point and i completely felt rusty 😂 to the point when I began to wonder if I could even cope at all but after some practice I began to pickup little by little it was a funny 🤣 experience cause it almost felt like my hands and feet where tied I a way that I couldn't move them at all.

At that moment I remembered what my tutor use to say while I was learning to play the drum, he kept on our brain 🧠 been the most important part in this and how i needed to be able to understand and adapt to how my brain reacts to playing different sounds on the drum and how to create good melody using the our brain and our ears to understand and also produce good sound.

When you begin picking up it's almost like your brain is opening up and you are adapting to it at slowly till a point when you completely opens up and you begins to flow all of a sudden.

To accomplish this you will need a lot of support to boost your confidence, their support will help boost your adrenaline while you are playing, this support also helps cover my flaws helping me recover my confidence and to grow to a whole new level under an atmosphere that is simple.

I know that it will take a while to get to my personal best before heading to the roof but I also have this in mind that slow and steady is what wins the race 💪.

You can add playing one music instrument amongst your personal skills it has a way of helping us develop our brain and establishing some sense of freedom when we grab any of these instruments to play.

Participate in the #daily inleo prompt using the link below and you will find a lot of interesting prompts to write about, I will personally suggest this for newbies it will help your journey on hive.
