December always brings a feeling of excitement, and, for me, it’s a time to reflect on the highs and lows of the year and appreciate how far I’ve come. Just being healthy and able to welcome another December is something I’ll be truly grateful for, especially after all of the good and challenging moments that this year has brought.
One of the biggest things I’m looking forward to is going back home from school. December is actually a chance to relax and escape the endless cycle of spending that university life demands. Living on campus hasn’t been easy - I’m constantly spending on one thing or another, from food to everyday essentials. I haven't had enough time to rest either, due to high packed activities here and there. So by December, I’ll be able to return home and be free from all that, at least for a while. More than anything, I’m looking forward to my mom’s cooking—there’s nothing quite like a home-cooked meal, especially after surviving on campus food. I’m ready to say goodbye to instant noodles ,snacks and bread all the time and welcome real, wholesome food.
And then there’s Christmas itself. For my family, Christmas has always been a special occasion, a time for us to come together and celebrate. Every year, my mom makes it a thing to go all out for Christmas. She usually goes to the market a few days before the holiday to buy chickens and other ingredients for a feast. She would stock the fridge with a variety of drinks, and you can just feel the festive spirit throughout the house. I can already picture us sitting around, enjoying a great meal together. The food, the laughter, and the feeling of being surrounded by family make it an unforgettable experience each year, and I can’t wait for it to come around again. Just thinking about all the delicious food—rice, chicken, snacks, and everything in between—has me excited already. It’s not just about eating, though; it’s about enjoying good food with people I love.
Beyond the family celebrations, I’m also looking forward to getting myself a few things in December. I’ve realized recently that I don’t have many nice shirts left. Most of my shirts are worn out, and with the holiday season approaching, I’d love to look fresh and stylish. December is a great time to catch up with old friends and go out together, so I’m planning to take some money off my savings to visit the boutique to pick up some nice clothes. Having some fresh clothes to wear will add to that festive feeling and make me feel confident when I’m out with friends. It’s a little treat for myself after a busy year, and I think it’s important to do that every once in a while.
And of course, December just has that special vibe that’s hard to describe but easy to feel. There’s something magical about the holiday season—the decorations, the music, the overall atmosphere of warmth and joy. It’s a time when everything seems a little brighter, and people are a bit more cheerful. I love the energy that comes with it. December has a way of making you feel like anything is possible, like the year can end on a high note no matter what. It’s a time to recharge and prepare for the new year with renewed energy and hope.
So, whether it’s spending time with family, enjoying my mom’s cooking, getting myself a few new clothes, or just soaking in the December vibes, I’m really looking forward to everything this season has to offer. It’s a chance to slow down, appreciate the little things, and end the year feeling grateful and content.

I can agree that we all need a break from some things, whether school or work. It is a time to replenish our energy. A time with family and friends.
