I have always been fascinated by animals, even though I don’t have any around me at the moment. There’s just something about them that excites me, especially dogs. Most times, I find myself going on the internet to check out different breeds, their characteristics, and the amazing things they can do. It is always interesting to learn new things about them, and I have come across so many interesting facts that completely changed my perspective.
For example, I used to think that the Pit Bull was like the strongest dog in the world. I had always heard people talk about how aggressive and powerful they were, so I naturally assumed they were the strongest. But one day, while researching, I came across the Kangal, and I was shocked to find out that it is actually way more dangerous,powerful and can actually defeat the Pit Bull. The Kangal bite force weighs more than that of the Pit bull , which makes it even more terrifying in a fight. That discovery just made me even more curious about dogs, and since then, I have continued to research different breeds and their unique qualities.
Although, out of all the breeds I have come across, my absolute favorite is the German Shepherd. First of all, they are incredibly intelligent, which is one of their best qualities. I have read so many things about their intelligence, and it’s no surprise that they are widely used as police dogs, military dogs, and even search-and-rescue dogs. Their ability to learn commands quickly and their natural instinct to protect make them one of the most reliable dog breeds out there..
Aside from their intelligence, German Shepherds are also excellent for security. The level of insecurity in my country is very high, and I know that when I eventually start living on my own, having a German Shepherd will be a huge advantage. They are naturally protective, and with the right training, they can chase away intruders and keep a home safe. I have seen videos of German Shepherds in action, and the way they take down threats is just amazing.
Another thing I love about them is that they can also be great family dogs. Despite their tough and serious nature, they are very loyal and loving to their owners. I have seen stories of how German Shepherds bond with children and become very affectionate towards their families. So , this balance between being protective and being a loving companion is one of the reasons why they remain my top choice as I hope to have a big family in the future.
Now, when it comes to their appearance, I especially love the ones with mixed colors. Those are my favorites! The way their fur blends with different shades makes them even more beautiful. Some have a mix of black and tan, while others have a combination of black and silver or even red. No matter the color, German Shepherds always have this strong and confident look that makes them stand out.
After the German Shepherd, my second favorite breed is definitely going to be the Belgian Malinois. They share a lot of similarities with the German Shepherd, especially in terms of intelligence and security, but my heart is still with the German Shepherd. No other breed comes close to how much I love them.
In the future, I actually don’t just want to own a German Shepherd for security and companionship—I would also want them as a source of income. I have seen people make good money from dog breeding and training over here in Nigeria, and I think it would be a great idea to go into that as well. It would be amazing for me to have a place where I can breed and train high-quality German Shepherds and sell them to people who need them for security or as pets.
Overall, I just love everything about dogs. Their loyalty, intelligence, and unique personalities make them the best animals anyone can have and i know for sure that when the time is right, I will have my own German Shepherd, and it will be one of the best decisions I’ll ever make.
