I cannot possibly be the only one who has never had that nostalgic Valentine’s Day experience. I mean the kind where you are enveloped in that dreamy moment, beneath starry skies, euphoric smell in the air, contagious smiles, butterflies, and the blue moonlight kind. The kinds of moments where you sit in silence but your souls have said a thousand words and shared a million hugs and kisses - those soft kisses that are gently implanted on the corners of your lips. Those are moments when the world stands still and nothing else matters. You just want to live in that fantasy forever.
There! I think your imagination has come out to play. Now snap out of it. Haha! I've seen people truly immerse in the beauty of Valentine and I find it admirable. Whether it is a day shared with loved ones, adventures with friends, or just that moment of self-love and appreciation, it is something I applaud. Yet for no apparent reason, there has never been any February the 14th that has swept me off my feet like that.

Perhaps it is because I've learned to take every day as a gift. Tomorrow isn't promised and I have to exhaust every resource in that little gift box.
Wait a moment, did you know Valentine’s Day has its history from ancient Roman and Christian traditions? Yes. It's been around like forever and has evolved into a global celebration of love. Some legends say that the history could be traced to a mysterious figure named St Valentine.
He was famous for secretly wedding soldiers who were forbidden to get married at the time. I find this interesting.
As I write this post, valentines day is only a couple of days away. Also, a couple of days after Valentine's Day is my son's third birthday. A whole three years with a little charming human. You can agree with me that it has been a trying yet fulfilling phase. I couldn't have asked for a better gift. As you can tell, I have been so consumed with preparing for his big day that it is starting to get a little - just a tiny bit overwhelming.

So for Valentine's Day, I want a little getaway with my petite family. Away from the crowd and fast lane. If I had a magic wand, I would press a little pause and escape into a quiet stitch in time. I could do without all the sparks and glitters that come with the moment. The other day, I saw a beautiful staycation spot located at a resort just at Zuma Rock, Nigeria. Ever since then, the ambiance of that place has been beckoning. I want to go there.
It looks like the perfect place for us to unwind, relax, bond, smell the flowers, and just be at peace. It is going to give me that clear space to ponder and put things into better perspective. While at it, a little fun won't hurt. The resort has amazing outdoor spots, a golf course, bike riding, a petting zoo, and lots of cool stuff. I think this would be my entire fulfilling Valentine’s Day package. Not too much to ask for, is it?

I love your rendition of what valentine is. When it has to do with family, my heart always warms up. For this year, I'm just getting a little something for Mom. I try to celebrate Val with her every year. A getaway would be perfect for you and your little boy.
I envy you. I wish my mom was here to celebrate with me too. Girl, live every moment with her unapologetically.
Thank you so much for your warm comment.
Hmmm! This is just one perfect way to celebrate and that's with family. A lot of us get so busy with life and barely have time to express how much we care about those around us but with Val, it's a big opportunity and I believe you will make the best of it.
