Greetings!
I won't lie, no matter how tough I appear in words and mannerisms, I have a very soft heart. One big problem I have been facing—although I am conquering it gradually—is the problem of overthinking. This overthinking does not work in the usual way it does for many individuals out there; mine works in a very funny and opposite way. Oh my God, I am laughing already, considering the things I am about to write. Lol.
My overthinking does not dwell on serious life issues; rather, it focuses on things that people easily brush off. What do I mean? Read on.

There's this song that I love the first verse so much, "Ale Yi" by Zlatan Ibile. He says a very accurate truth about life which is 'Overthinking can never solve a problem'
One thing that bothers me very little is life’s challenges. Here are some examples:
- You will never see me go crazy because I am struggling to get money for something, and it is not coming forth.
- You will never see me have a sleepless night because I am sick and on the verge of dying.
- You will never see me running helter-skelter if a family member gets arrested
- and so many other similar situations.
Among these, the only one that bothers me to an extent is when a loved one, especially a family member, is sick and not responding to treatment. Yeah, that is where I tend to overthink a little because I am always scared of losing someone close to me. But whenever I am the one who is sick or has an accident, no, I do not overthink it. I just know I cannot die. I have this unshakable trust in God that everything will be alright, and sometimes, I do not even engage in marathon prayers to make things okay—I just live my life.
There was a certain time I was staying with a family, and an issue occurred in the house that got one of their family(extended )members arrested. Mehnnnn, these people wanted to finish me with unnecessary meetings and prayers. God abeg oooh!
So Which Area Do I Overthink?
Guys, it is relationships! Yes, that is where my overthinking capacity overshadows me.😅
To tell you the truth, it is not like I have been in a relationship where the lady was cheating and got caught. Nope. I play very safe because I know that the softhearted me would go mad if I ever experienced that.
Hold on, should I first of all hit on the current trend on infidelity and divorce in marriage?? No, let me skip this.
I won't lie here—my thoughts and orientation about relationships and marriage have been shaped by the trends of current happenings in these aspects of life. And it is not my fault; the world is changing, and everyone in it is moving alongside it. These days, people no longer value integrity in relationships. The pattern of a lady dating Mr. A, being with Mr. B while still entertaining other Misters to see how the future turns out is just wrong. Do you understand what I mean? People boldly engage in multiple relationships, confidently deceiving their partners, and finally settling down with someone who was not even in the picture initially. That thought scares me and gets me overthinking whenever I am tagging along with a lady.
No matter how committed the lady seems, there is always someone else in the picture—maybe even a Plan A (not just Plan B). Any little sign triggers my overthinking. Lack of trust, right? Okay, maybe that's that but you can't kick off the idea that what I'm saying is damn true.
You see, relationships have been turned into competitions, which is why I easily cut off. I cannot allow myself to suffocate my mind with unnecessary thoughts.
Let me stop here before you guys say I am attacking the female gender.
