This year’s Christmas is fast approaching and to be honest, I am not really excited about it, unlike the previous Christmas. Well, I am more excited for the new year, there are a lot of things I have for the new year that make me so excited.
My family is not really a “Christmas freak”, I mean we love the holiday and the celebration, and we love making special food and all but we are not the type that would necessarily buy new clothes or shoes or decorate the houses with different Christmas accessories or ornaments or go on an outing.
But still, I have a few things planned for the Christmas celebration. For this Christmas, I really don’t want to spend much because I have a lot of things to work on by next year and they require money but as much as I want to spend less, it looks like I will be spending quite more than I expected.
Right from the beginning of this year, I have always wanted to make some things to share with my neighbours and family, initially I thought of making fried rice, jollof rice, and chicken, but then I realised that it is too common and it requires quite a lot of money. So, I decided to make little snacks like some mini cakes with some Christmas decorations or chinchin and doughnuts.
So, this Christmas I would really love to make some mini cakes to share with people around me, I didn’t plan on spending much on this but since things had unexpectedly increased in price, I know I would be spending more than expected.
Also, another plan I have for this holiday season is to see a movie with my sister. Well, initially I didn’t plan this for the holiday season but since we haven’t had any time to go for an outing as we have always planned, we shifted it to this season.
We will probably be going before Christmas or on a less busy day. I don’t like going out during the holiday season because everywhere is always bustling, and to be honest, it makes me sick, but since I and my sister barely have time to spend together, we have no choice now. My sister will be coming home in one week’s time and for this, I am quite excited.
Lastly, just last week while I was on YouTube I saw a video where a girl talked about a Christmas gift idea to give to loved ones, it caught my attention and I thought of making some crochet stuffed toys or appliqué for some young people around me.
Although, this is not so certain as I have a lot of things to do before the year ends still I have it in mind to make a crochet gift. I have watched several videos and I have gotten ideas on what to make, the only thing I need is time to make them.
As I have said, I don’t really have anything extra for this holiday season. I am not thinking of buying any new colours or shoes for this season or even travelling to visit anyone. I just want to relax this season without any pressure, just to spend time to be grateful for all I have achieved this year and also share love with those around me.

I think that the older we get, the less enthusiastic we feel about doing elaborate things for Christmas. I feel the same way about Christmas. I just want to spend time with family and friends, and make memories with them.
My guess is that @rayoo would be coming straight from camp. You just have missed her. I trust she'd have tales to tell you when she's back.
The gift ideas you have for your friends is very lovely and special. I wouldn't mind appliqué if I can get one.
