Compliment of the season 🎄
Talking about festival or Tradition during Christmas season, without wasting much time my mind went to the tradition of mbaise people in imo state of Eastern region of Nigeria. This Tradition is done every Christmas starting from 25th of December to 31th of December, and this is one of the biggest tradition in mbaise that I know, although they may have other massive tradition but regarding to Christmas season tradition you can say of ERIGWARA MBAISE This Tradition knows no enemy and no boundaries. The ERIGWARA MBAISE is where people go to any house of your choice to eat and enjoy themselves, they cook all part of food that they can cook on that very day, as you are going to anyone's house people are going to your own house, that's why it is called ERIGWARA MBAISE, the ERIGWARA in Igbo means "Eating back" so it is a two way thing.
This Tradition is a way of showing or exercising Love, Joy and happiness among themselves. The mbaise people love ERIGWARA so much, that true son of the soil will engage in it. This activity which is done every Christmas is an amazing one. I have friends who are from mbaise and this particular friend of mine same from mbaise who don't miss the ERIGWARA MBAISE ceremony, as of the moment I did this blog he have already travelled to mbaise for the ERIGWARA. Actually I'm not from Imo State, talk more of coming from MBAISE but I picked out one thing that is very important in their Activity. That Love they share Among themselves. Because I don't know why you should trust someone to that extent of going to any house at all of your choice to eat without the fear of one or two things, you should know better what I'm saying. But the love among them won't allow you to think of hurting each other. Anyways this traditional is not a ritual ☠️ and it has no ritual performance that I know of.
I'm my own home and house, every Christmas it is an tradition that everyone must go to Christmas service, I don't know why thou, that it what we met and we have been following it that way. Every Christmas morning been 25th December, we all do gather in the sitting room for general morning prayer, during this time both my uncle's, aunt, nephew, cousin's and everyone. Majority of the househood will be back by then, and we will come out in the sitting room, sing, dance, worship, praise and prayer to God almighty. This routine will happen again on 1st of a new year. So we have it at that back of our mind that immediately is 5am there will be a praying meeting every 25th of December. So I think, that's the first thing we do every Christmas morning before any other thing can follow, something like cooking of dishes, I'm sure that fried rice and chicken Will be present, ukazi soup, and some other meal, you can feel how happy I am already writing this blog, hehehe.
This is my response on hive Naija weekly prompt edition 78. I'm inviting @kc6729 and @darkvine to join the prompt.

It's my first time knowing about this tradition and I think it's a fantastic one. Although, eating anywhere sounds dangerous beyond being poisoned but it's absolutely a show of love.
Exactly 💯
There are some tradition we don't know..
And this is a way of showing love just as you said..
Attending Christmas day service used to be a must in my house back then but not anymore though.
Ohh okay then..
But if I may ask why did it stop..
