Life and lessons comes hand in hand and the day we stop taking lessons from life, is the day we start to fail or stop growing. Thankfully, I have a lot of people around me who has never stopped teaching me lessons that have influenced my lifestyle positively. My family are my number one from whom I've learned life changing lessons.
One of the things many of us take for granted, is the lessons we learn from family or close ones. We feel it's normal and we don't have to show how grateful we are about whatever we learn, especially the great ones. Sad to say but our families can also teach us lessons that would only come through hurt and some family crisis.
The beauty and gift of connection whether with family or loved ones or friends, is experiencing things and learning from them. From each of my family member, I've learned more than one lesson from them but I'll share just one I've learned from each of them. So this is me being appreciative of what I've learned from them and how it's going.
From my dad, he has always been a great role model to me but most especially, he has taught me one of the greatest lessons that has made my life today a lot different and better... Relating with others well (being jovial and loving). My dad is a friend to everyone, it's hard to think he has an enemy and that is how I am as I am jovial too.
From my mum, she has influenced how I organize my life, activities and how to keep things clean and simple no matter how complicated or difficult things get. I really appreciate learning the minimalist lifestyle from her even though it doesn't seem like she's teaching it. Her usual lifestyle is a dream to me that I want to achieve.
My siblings have taught me a lot of lessons, from being responsible to staying calm during crisis. They are younger than I am but I can't say enough how much I've learnt from them over time. It's not easy feat to go over a hard time so learning the lesson from my family, life has been easier for me to navigate my bad days and be happy again.
Aside my family, I've learnt a lot from my friends and close ones even from far distance. I remember a lot of times I do some thing cool or what turns out good for me and others, and I'll dedicate it to a friend I learned it from. It's the beauty of connection indeed, even when they are no longer there, we remember what we learned.
I can't even start counting out more things I've learned from others but I must say, every lesson I've learnt in my life are from people both close and far distanced relations. It's what has made life worth living, we learn, unlearn and relearn to a better lifestyle and I have all those who have always been teaching to thank for the privilege.

I took my time to go through your post and I noticed you have a strong connection with your family and I can proudly say that is a good one. though some of us are more connected to our mom than dad. I'm happy you humbled yourself as their baby to learn from them. that is the joy of every parent.
