When Innocence And Curiosity Collided: Childhood Adventures.

I guess I've had a lot of experiences even as a child. Some of them got me into trouble, while I was applauded for being AA good child on some other days. Like a day when my mother asked us to go grind pepper and tomato at Iya Basirat's house.

I'll never forget how I dragged my best friend, Daniella along with me, while I handed over the bucket of washed tomatoes and peppers to my younger brother.

"Daniella, I will climb the tree faster than you can." I was arguing with her. As someone who climbed a lot of trees, I didn't find it hard to climb the tree that day while Daniella stood at the ground, waiting for me. My younger brother had walked a bit far from us and quickly, I climbed down and went after my brother. I wasn't ready to explain anything to my mother.

But, it was too late. As we approached the gate, Iya Basirat dogs barked loudly that my younger brother flee for safety. The next thing I saw was that the bucket of tomatoes and peppers my mother had given me was sitting inside the gutter. The whole tomato fell into the gutter and my life flashed before my very eyes. Ah, my mama!

I'll never forget how I got home that day, looking like a hungry lizard. How was I going to explain to my mother that I had wasted her money, or how do I tell her that I wasn't the one carrying the bucket as she instructed. What I saw that day, eh, my eyes cannot tell. Infact, I went to bed that night without food. It was my dad who woke me up at midnight to feed me. The next day, I wasn't allowed to step out of the house.

I'll never forget how I got into an argument with my classmate on a Monday morning. I got to school very early that morning but he kept insisting that I was late and I was punished by my class teacher because, he warned us all about coming late to school. E pain me, oh. I even planned to do my own back, sef.

I'll never forget the I told my mom that I knew where they sell breadfruit (ukwa). She asked me how I knew what ukwa was and I kept explaining what I didn't even know. Sha, she trusted me and asked me to go buy the ukwa. That was how I went to buy grains of wheat. She tried preparing it the way ukwa was prepared but it was a total waste of time, money and kerosene. I watched as she carried the pot that day and poured away the whole thing into the bush. Ah, oversabi do me, no be small.

I'll never forget the day I came home from school with my report card, looking so sad. My parents checked my results and were encouraged that I came second in class but I wasn't. I mean, I had always taken the first position, what then happened? 😅 Well, after my dad recalculated my results, he found out the score wasn't correct and my teacher had to rework on it. You need to see my joy, sha. 😅

My childhood was filled with so many experiences that if I begin to share them, we may not complete it, today.

I hope you enjoy these ones. I'd like to know if you can relate with anyone here.

Thank you for reading.

These are really funny memories from the first to last, the last two got me laughing more though 😅

These are part of what makes our childhood fun and worth talking about, glad you shared.

It is even more funny because they are your childhood memories. We did a lot of silly things when we were much younger and I guess those were some of the things that made childhood fun.
