What do we call independence?
Is it a mere word in Africa especially in Nigeria, celebrating freedom and out of the entanglement of the Europeans powers who brought into our country Nigeria foreign rule as was the case of the great Britain not until 1960 on the paper or according to what history holds as I wasn't born to witness that.
When I woke up early this morning, I remember vividly that
Today is the first of October, and as such it is the day the said Nigeria and giant of Africa celebrate it's freedom, independence and breakthrough from the British, instead of wishing the people around me happy independence day, I chose to say happy new month to them.

Is Nigeria an independence nation as it's ascribed and celebrated to?
In what area is Nigeria independence?
A quote from one of the greatest and renowned pan-Africanist and human activist who also double as the first president of the the then gold Coast and now Ghana say "Seek ye political independence and all others shall be added unto you" little did he know that his philosophy is paving way for a part-time political rule in Africa because the Europeans powers still exercises their powers through other sectors targeting the political rule of the nation and making a prime minister or president to be a puppet ruler and leader.
How can this independence be celebrated when Nigeria's economy, policies and leadership cabinet which are deconstructed and not yet reconstructed to the desire of the her people and constitution of the country.
Our forefathers fought and died in securing freedom this generation and the generation yet unborn but I still see Nigeria still under the spell of what's as neocolonialism away from colonialism, funny.
Yes we believe that the colonial era might have ended but I put it to you that its impacts are still with us politically, in religion, economy and culture. This impact has made our traditional beliefs to be called barbaric and black in nature.
We move return and embrace the spirit of nationalisms as was the case of the pan Africanist, deconstruct our political policies and reconstruct it as it should be.
We must do away with anything that has a trance of neocolonialism and foreign rule.
Stop excessive loan from this Europeans nation and retain our best brain in our country.we should rekindle our cultural heritage and make it a proud one.
Finally, I most say we should do away from a mere celebration of independence without reflecting on the fight fought by our forefathers, we can make a change and rebuild a new Nigeria and the change will start from me, you, us and everyone andb and it's by doing this we can celebrate a true Independence and Nigeria.
Our forefathers fought incredibly hard to secure this independence for us. However, it's hard to admit, but it seems their efforts were in vain. Looking at the situation now, it's disheartening.
But we as a group and individual can be the change we want right?
Yeah, neocolonialism is still very much the case in the country currently. But I know Nigeria will be fine. Sooner or later.
I love your hope just as our president advise " Nigeria are fine" all the time
Happy independence day celebration. I hope Nigeria will be better before next year when we will be celebrating the next independence
