There's a young man in his late twenties who was sent to a distant place in Ogun State for his youth service. He got a 19-year-old girl pregnant but left without taking care of her or their child.
After the baby was born, the girl's family found out where the man lived through his primary place of assignments (PPA). They told him about the baby, but he didn't show up or take responsibility for his child.
He neither send money to the mother for up keep nor take care fo the newly born baby. She had to drop out of school so as to take good care of her newly born baby, it was really tough for her to face the problem alone without the father's support.
God so good, when they travelled down to the man's family house, the mother in law gave the lady her contact should in case she needed anything.
One day, she put a call through to the man's mother and explained how life has been so difficult for her, she asked for help. Then the man's mother sent her some funds. She did all these without her son knowing and ever since then she kept sending money secretly.
Twenty five years later, he got a notification that his daughter's marriage is arround the corner and he was invited out of respect being the father of the bride to be. But at first, they needed to do introduction according to yoruba culture, introduction comes before wedding.
The groom's family was ready to meet the bride's parents for the introduction ceremony. The bride's father was asked to be present because it wouldn't be right for someone else to pretend to be him.
When he got the message, he traveled to Osun State with his mother the day before the introduction and stayed in a hotel. On the introduction day, they went to the venue from the hotel. When the daughter saw her biological father, she cried, but her family comforted her to not spoil her day. Then she composed herself. The bride's mother was happy to see her generous mother-in-law after many years.
Both the groom's and bride's families were present. During the ceremony, the father, without shame, realized that his daughter was marrying into a Muslim family. He announced to everyone that the wedding couldn't continue because he insisted his daughter marry a Muslim like himself.
The grandmother took her son aside to talk in private, advising him not to spoil his daughter's joyful day with his shameless behavior. She reminded him of how he neglected his responsibilities towards his daughter all these years.
After their conversation, they returned to the venue. The grandmother managed the entire event, ensuring everything went smoothly.
During the ceremony, the bride's father stood up and addressed everyone, apologizing to his daughter for being an irresponsible father and husband. He asked for her forgiveness and gave his blessings for her relationship with the man she loves.
He promised to start fresh and make things right from now on.
