The world of dreams can be indeed crazy. Sometimes, I wake up vividly remembering every detail of my dreams, and sometimes, they slip away to the point that I struggle to recall a thing. A lot of people I have come across do not believe in dreams, and so whatever they see in their dreams, they ignore it. Some don't even pay attention to what happens in their dreams simply because they feel that it's only your activities for the day that make up your dreams at night.
To a large extent, I believe that when we sleep, we could dream about the recent happenings in our day prior to going to bed, but dreams are far beyond just our day activities and what occupied our mind before bedtime. Personally, the moment I started forgetting my dreams whenever I woke up, I started getting worried because I knew how important dreams were to me, whether the relevant or irrelevant ones. Sometimes I see things very important about my life or my family or anything at all, kind of a revelation of what is about to happen, and it gives me room to pray about it or share with anyone if I find the interpretation strange.
I have had reoccurring dreams for three consecutive nights, and I knew that it's not just about my thoughts, and I had to fervently pray about it. The thing about my dream most times is that, the ones I try to overlook, I see it happening negatively around my life. I have read in the scripture where it is stated that God reveals secret things to his children. He doesn't want us to be in the dark but allows us to see things beforehand as his children. To some people, God gave them the gift of prophecy, visions, etc.; to some persons, God speaks to them through dreams, and that's why I don't joke with any type of dream I experience. My problem with my dreams recently is the rate at which I forget my dreams, sometimes partially, and sometimes my mind goes blank once I open my eyes from my sleep.
But then, I think the natural state of my body system contributes to some extent to how I forget my dreams. Having a hectic day, feeling so much exhausted makes me sleep deeply at night, and recalling my dreams is always a problem. Sometimes, I may be having a series of dreams and suddenly wake up via my set alarm, and remembering my dreams in this state is always a hassle because I didn't wake up naturally.
However, there are still kind of dreams that don't fade away no matter the circumstances around my sleep. This kind of dream, I wake up to reflect on it, make a journal of it, and do the needful. There's a dream I had 10 years ago that has stuck in my mind to this day and has been like a life guide in a particular aspect of my life.
Overall, I love it more when I can remember all my dreams. Every piece of information through my dreamland matters a lot to me, and making an effort to remember them remains vital.
Let me conclude by leaving you with the same question from InLeo: The world of dreams can be crazy; do you remember them when you wake up?

Forgetting about dreams is very natural and I think it's not a matter of worry. So, I am not surprised to hear that you forget about the dreams after wake up. It also happens to me also.

Dreams carry a lot of meaning even though sometimes people might over look. Personally, when I’m tired I always find myself lucid dreaming which adds up to the stress cos I’m literally in a waking state instead of sleeping.
Sometimes to be able to fully process your dreams and remember them vividly, you have to force yourself to wake up in the moment because once you keep on sleeping, that might just be it.
