While I was single, I was never a fan of celebrating Valentine's Day. Even as a married woman, I still didn't find it so much enticing to set out this day and make it unique, maybe because I do not wait until Val's day to celebrate love with my spouse, my family, and friends.

I think one of the reasons I lost interest in observing Valentine's Day back then as a spinster was because of the way many of our youths intentionally prepare to do all manner of unthinkable things all in the name of Valentine's Day.Back in my university days, I saw a lot, a whole lot, just to mark this day!. Many young girls lose their virginity because of Valentine's Day. Come to my school environment on the 15th morning and see lots of used condoms. Like seriously, many people kept getting this day wrong for God's sake, and it's a concern. There are lots of fake promises just to lure some people into messing up with their bodies, and I begin to ask so many questions: What is Valentine all about?
A lot of people see this day as a day to express romantic love only, but then, I see it as an opportunity to celebrate all forms of love. Your love for your family, friends, and even self-love, as well as showing appreciation to those people who love and care for you and many others we can extend the love to. Note that it's important to value our loved ones and always express how we feel about our relationship with them whenever necessary. This little act strengthens the bond and the relationship with each other.
Over the years, my viewpoint on Valentine’s Day has evolved. I no longer see it as a day to give and receive gifts or expect surprises from my husband but instead make an effort to show love and express my thoughtful gratitude to people who make life beautiful for me.
Overall, the plan for this year's Valentine's Day is simple. I will write a heartfelt message to the husband of my youth, make my kids favorite meal as their dinner, take myself out in the afternoon for a little self-treat, and finally, check on one of my close friends who has been through a lot lately, show her love, kindness, and encouragement, and reassure her that all will be fine.

I don't care too much about the valentine day and there is no specialty of the day. I never celebrated the day but in the present time people use it to trap the young girls.
