Truth or Dare Gone Wrong

in Hive Naija3 days ago (edited)

It all happened during my youth service year. I had always heard of Truth or Dare, but I had never participated in the game. People often said it was fun, but I had never been part of it.

As we all know, the service year is always an exciting time, a period when you get to meet new friends, experience different lifestyles (depending on what suits you), and taste new meals. But for me, it wasn't just about trying new foods; I also learned new games, and one of them was the infamous Truth or Dare.

After camp, we arrived at the corpers' lodge where we were to stay, and we were warmly welcomed. The following day, we went to our assigned schools to complete the necessary documentation and officially resumed our duties at our Places of Primary Assignment (PPA). Everything was going smoothly, we would go out every weekend, sit out with friends, enjoy some drinks, and dance to good music.

Everything was fun and enjoyable until one fateful Friday when the youth leader of the community sent a message to our CLO, informing us to get ready for a sit-out that evening. They wanted to officially welcome us. Excitement filled the air! By 7 p.m., we were all dressed up, eagerly waiting for the youth leader to take us to where we would eat free food and enjoy free drinks.

We arrived at the venue, which turned out to be a kind of clubhouse. After eating and drinking, someone suggested that we play a game to make the outing even more fun and memorable before leaving. And, of course, the chosen game was none other than the almighty Truth or Dare.

The game started after the rules were explained. When it got to my turn, everyone shouted, "Truth or Dare?" Smiling confidently, I responded, "Dare!" They dared me to go on stage and dance, which I did without hesitation. The game continued. When it was my turn again, I was dared to slap someone who wasn’t part of our group. Ahahaha! I thought to myself, "Do these people want to start a fight?" I refused, and as a penalty, they said I had to drink a glass of spirit. I reluctantly agreed and drank it.

The game went on, and soon, it was my turn again. This time, I was dared to drink two more glasses of spirit. At that point, I started seeing double! I knew I was high, but I couldn't help myself, I danced to every tune of the music playing.

Long story short, my brothers and sisters, how I managed to get home that night still remains a mystery to me till today. But that wasn’t even the main problem. I remember throwing up twice that night and waking up the next morning feeling extremely weak and exhausted. I felt so sick that I couldn't even go to work.

From that day till today, anytime I see people playing Truth or Dare, I just quietly watch from a distance, ahh! Before affliction repeats itself the second time!

I am @nsigo1, and I dare you to share your own experience. Ahahaha! Thanks for reading!
