Honestly speaking, 2024 was a lot and a rough year for most Nigerians because of the high cost of everything, including foodstuff and basic amenities you need to survive, due to our bad and corrupt leaders, who were profiting off the masses and filling their pockets to feed their generation to come. The only things that kept me going were having something to do and the good friends I made along the way.
I'm not someone who makes friends easily because I'm a private person, and I do not allow just anyone and everyone I meet Into my space; I would say I have a lot of acquaintances and a few good friends. Last year, my life was centered around the gym, church, a few friends, a little outing (as the king of introverts that I am), and work. I would say work took most of my time because bills don't pay themselves, and my bills to pay kept popping out from all angles with no chill pill and breathing space. My simple day-to-day routine for last year was, me working from when I wake up in the morning till 4pm, I eat in between, then from 4pm I take a break, take my bath, and get ready for the gym at 5pm, I spend 3 hours in the gym to clear my head and also to get that summer body.
The gym was where I made most of my new friends since I barely go out, the firs month of me going to the gym I don't make any news friends I was just working out with my old friend that I have known for years, but after I few months went by I start making new friends who eventually became my workout partners on till date.

Yeah, it is fun and motivating when you workout with people.
I think connections made with genuine people at places of your interests last the longest. I'm also an introvert so I understand where you are coming from.
Yeah, these new friends I have made make me want to go to the gym every day.
