I called my mum and told her about the scholarship and she said it was a good idea but it was too risky, the long journey, the transportation fare, my exams and then she came up with this story of kidnapping going on on the highway, I almost gave up. I turned to my elder sister and in her words she said "what kind of scholarship is that? You know you can barely feed in school you still want to throw away money" she said so many things and then I turned to my eldest sister and she too tried to dissuade me although her only reason was that what if I do not pass the exams.
That was when I knew that if I do not take this matter into my own hands and get serious it will pass just like the air, I went to a coworker explained things to him and he lent me the transport fare, which I promised to pay back when I came back and then I went for the exams. It was in the exam hall I knew from my seat mate that I have been reading something else different from what they had told us to read because I wasn't in their Whatsapp chat group and there and then I thought "Esther is finish, how will you do this?" I still sat for the exam and we were told to wait behind so they would quickly mark the questions and tell us our results my seat mate who has read for weeks failed but I passed just by 1 mark (I'm not saying this to mock her but) I just than God I passed because I knew there were so many people waiting to mock me and say "I told you so" I gladly went home and that same Saturday because I slept at my sister's place and on Sunday very early in the morning I went back to school from my parents house.
Monday came the exam was postponed to Tuesday, Tuesday came I wrote my exam😁 , tha was how I was able to pay my school fees because I knew paying my school fees for this final year will be hard since my parents are no longer financially bouyant. At every step I felt like quitting but something kept pushing me and I went, I wrote, I conquered. 😁
