The joy of every income earner is to spend their money peacefully as they have worked for it. Money is a medium of exchange and there is no way we can get something we want without having to tender our money in exchange for it. Gone are the days when people had joy in exchanging what they had for something they needed and life was more than good to them. This act was called "Barter system", this is where goods and services were exchanged between two or more parties without the use of money. I wasn't born then but grew up to read histories. At that time, they had the time to think of what they needed before giving out what they had as their decision would determine if they would feed to their satisfaction or not.
It doesn't mean we don't think before spending our money today because, who would want to waste money on something they realized they never wanted all along? But there are still individuals who do not mind being on a spending spree because they do not work for the money and some worked hard but choose to spend on wants instead of need as they believe that they will make it back. Many of us have made some poor financial decisions/spendings that we feel the hands of the clock should be turned back to avoid such a mistake.
There were a lot of times I would bite my fingers when I realized I wasted money on an item because I never used it and in the end would dash it out or discard it when I find no one needing it. With this, I still find myself in similar situations buying an item and regretting that I wasted money on it.
Money is like a spirit that can fly away from your hands if not wisely thought over before spending on any products or items. There are people I have seen who wasted money buying one or two things and in the end, would start begging or going for loans to cover up their messes. Being financially literate and knowing your way around how to spend wisely, budget and invest would save one from making poor financial decisions. Every individual wants to work and be able to account for their hard-earned income at the end of the day, but still find themselves repeating the same mistakes all because of an enticing product that keeps beckoning on them. It is after payment, that they begin to think about why they bought such an item when in actuality, they do not need it.
Since I have learned my lessons on making thorough decisions before buying anything, there are times I still see myself being trapped in such poor spending and the only way to keep my sanity is to ignore and never dwell much on it while I caution myself not to repeat such a mistake while reassuring myself that I will make more money again.
Last week while travelling from one state to another state for my documentation, I forgot to take my earpiece along and I urgently needed one to keep me busy in the car as the only way to enjoy my trip was listening to music or watching movies instead of sleeping and having a boring journey. I decided to purchase one by the roadside out of desperation. On a norm, I never like buying items by the roadside because they are always not good. I bought an egg-roll (snacks) one time like that and as the bus moved, I cut into two and found an earthworm in it. There is the possibility that items like earpiece, earpods, other gadgets bought by the roadside during traffic are damaged easily and do not last. But I was bent on buying an earpiece to keep me busy.
I signalled to a guy who we both liaised together on the price and after going front and back on the amount I wanted to pay, he agreed that I pay two thousand naira ($2) instead of the initial four thousand naira ($4) he said. In fact, I even begged him to accept $1.5 but refused until I paid. He asked about the type I wanted and told him 'type c' which can work with my Samsung phone. I had forgotten that the previous earpiece I left at home was a single mouth that had a different space beside the charging point. The case was beautiful which made me fall in love with it. Our car moved and while on the way, I was having a second thought about the product.
My thought was that I should have gone for the single mouth instead of the type c since I use type c for my charging and plugging in and out my charger could harm the charging point of my phone. My mind became restless in the car as I regretted buying the earpiece. Then I started imagining it got damaged and my money wasted. I was having another thought of if my charging point got spoilt due to plugging in my earpiece, and charger, plugging out continuously, it may affect my phone and repairing a Samsung Galaxy phone would be expensive than the actual amount I bought it.
My phone and earpiece are still working in good condition and I am afraid the charging point won't get damaged as I don't have money now 😃😃 I am still trying to sort myself and a new accommodation where I would be serving, having to force myself on another responsibility would be a bad timing for me.

I have had my share of buying from the roadside while traveling and those products ended up not being of good quality. Because of this, I now hardly buy from them while I'm on a journey
I hope you will get to enjoy your earpiece for a long time.
I prefer not to use your phone using the charging port because it can be risky hand I don't want to take the risk.
I try to avoid buying something from roadside because those thing has no guarantee and warranty and it can be gone anytime 😅.
