Image generated on Meta AIJust recently, I was speaking with a friend, @fashtioluwa, about my zeal to return back to singing on Hive again when I saw his entry for the Vibes Music and it made me remember the good old days in the Hive Open Mic and Afritunes communities and a few entries in the Vibes community.
I felt I had abandoned this for a long time and should return soon. Even my sweet friend @nkemakonam89 had tried to encourage me to come back to singing, especially for Vibes but I kept giving her different excuses.
I was very active in dropping a video of me singing on Hive blockchain every week for the year 2022 and 2023 and a few months in year 2024. I loved singing and couldn't wait to publish my entries, especially when I had to read lovely compliments of people's comments, appreciating me for my effort and how nice my voice was. That alone gave me the courage and encouragement to keep dropping a video once a week.
For someone who was camera shy in the past, doing this activity boosted my morale, and I became more interested in it. But along the line, I lost interest in it or is it just for another reason? This was something I found so interesting to do every week even though I knew the effort and stress I put into it just to have a good one. I remember when I would rehearse and practice in the video more than 30 times until I had one that fit my satisfaction. Even though I always wanted it to look more perfect, nothing is ever too perfect, right?
I've loved singing right from childhood, and when I knew it could be monetized, that gave me the push to do what I love, though it was just a hobby kind of a thing. I was also in the choir then as a way of serving God with my talent, but I still considered myself not having that good voice like other people.
There are two reasons I stopped singing on Hive blockchain:
Image is mineThe first was because of electricity. When I wanted to sing, I would use my laptop to play the background music while my phone was for recording myself. But due to lack of electricity, my laptop couldn't be charged even for weeks, most times. I would abandon my system for days waiting for the electricity to come up until I can use it again. This made me lose interest in singing on the blockchain.
The second reason was my lack of time. I mostly don't have time to sing again, even when I have another alternative instead of my laptop. I now have a second phone that could do the work of playing the background music but I just lose interest completely. And when I see people singing, my mind would be there wanting me to resume again but somehow, there wouldn't be time for it. Perhaps, the stress in having to record, edit and add different touches made it look like a big thing for me.
I have thought about returning back to singing again but haven't had time to fully begin but I hope to do that soon because I want to keep singing and showcasing my love for songs and also to continue being bold to face the camera and become more stable in it. Very soon and when I have settled down fully at my new apartment, I will definitely return to singing and doing one of the activities I enjoy doing.

Just like you I was also once singing on the platform but it has actually been months now since we last stood in front of camera to even sing but then I am definitely hoping to get back soon just like you.

You see, that electricity part is a real booster. If there is no light, the zeal to work always leaves my body, and I can imagine not having time either. Its not easy to plan to do these things and then something else comes up to eat your time. It's sad.

I actually thought someone looted your voice and that's why you stopped singing or that you're just to rich to still be doing it, didn't know it's due to electricity and time, I'm sure you can still find your way around it if you truly want to, those two are meer excuses, carry camera now before I flog you.

I think lack of time is the main reason of it. You became busier with time and managing time is not so easy like earlier time. I can understand it as I also face the same situation like you.
