THE PLATFORM THAT HUMBLES YOU: "My Hive Journey in 30 Days"

My First Month on Hive: Lessons, Surprises, and Unstoppable Determination
Omo! Time really flies. It’s officially one month since I joined Hive, and trust me, it has been an experience mixed with surprises, lessons, and a lot of "what’s going on here?" moments.

Fast forward, I’ve posted seven posts so far and earned about three dollars. Omo, at first, it felt weird because my expectations were high. I thought dollars would start rolling in immediately. 😂 But honestly, this journey is teaching me patience and consistency.
The Big Birthday Surprise

Unraveling the Hive Mystery
Truth be told, there are still so many things I don’t understand about Hive. For example:
How exactly is the money from each post divided?
How does the algorithm work, and how do some posts gain massive attention?
What’s the secret behind getting enough likes to actually earn decent rewards?

Staying Determined
The truth is, this journey hasn’t been smooth. But I’m not backing down. Hive is a platform with so much potential, and I’m here to make the most of it. Slowly but surely, I’m learning, adapting, and finding my voice in this community.

To My Fellow Hiveans
If you’re reading this and just starting out on Hive like me, I want to encourage you: Keep pushing. It might feel slow at first, but every step counts. Engage with the community, share meaningful stories, and never stop learning.
For me, the journey has just begun. And one thing is certain: I’m here to stay and grow. Who knows? Maybe next month, I’ll have bigger milestones to share. Let’s go, Hive! 🚀 When I was introduced to Hive, the person(https://peakd.com/@joshuajessie) told me it was a platform where I could make dollars by simply posting content. I was like, “Wow! Let me kuku dive in sharply.” But after posting my introduction post(https://peakd.com/music/@prismatic-brand/introductory-post-on-hive), I noticed something strange—nobody seemed to notice it. It felt like I was just shouting into the void. Something surprising happened when I made a post about my pastor's birthday(https://peakd.com/hive-11060/@prismatic-brand/gods-handsome-general-a-visionary-leader-raising-a-billion-souls-for-christ). That post got over 500 likes, and I was shook! I started wondering, "Is it my pastor's anointing that worked, or what?" 😂 It was funny because I didn’t expect that level of engagement. That moment made me realize there’s something intriguing about how Hive works—maybe the community just loves meaningful content, or maybe they just like pastors? 😅 But one thing is clear: even if it feels like no one is noticing your post, Hive-Naija is always watching! Just this week, I got nominated for Naijan of the Week from a post that didn’t even get many likes(https://peakd.com/hive-11060/@prismatic-brand/it-was-all-lies-christ-was-never-born-on-december-percentth). That nomination hit differently. It reminded me that hard work doesn’t go unnoticed, even when it feels like nobody is looking. My goal? To someday become a renowned Hive ambassador like https://peakd.com/@starstrings01 and inspire others to share their stories and grow on this platform. If I’ve learned anything in this one month, it’s that Hive rewards persistence, creativity, and community engagement.

Sort:

You're here with the wrong mentality. If you're here for the money, it's best to quit now so you don't waste any more time and effort. You're too obsessed with the rewards, you hardly engage with anyone, you follow accounts with big wallets, you self vote yourself instead of supporting other worthy accounts and you recycle content. Pretty much everything you do is not considered good practice by the community.

It is advisable to lower your expectations when it comes to a platform like Hive. We nominate AOTW based on the content. You want to be noticed, you have to engage with people, and certain practices are frowned on. Self-voting for example. Maybe build relationships with other smaller accounts too as that way you will grow with genuine support.

ahhh....thank u Deraaa,i didnt even know self-voting was bad sef....thank you for your comment

Hive and humbling are one and the same. It's all about consistency, patience and following the rules.

With time you'll get to understand more

Happy one month in Hive

d-honey thank you so much....
