Just Before The Year Runs Out.

in Hive Naijayesterday

I think I am right to say that this year has been running very fast, too fast not to make each day in it count. It still feels like January was just about 3 months ago; but here we are in the second to last month. It is really so fast for me to point out specifically what I did in some of the past months, so much has happened this year, achievements, failures, fights, connections, improvements in many areas, etc.

The first thing I am looking forward to in the coming month is HOLIDAY!!. I can't wait to be free from the stress of being a student, a final year student. School has been a lot more stressful since resumption and I haven't had any good rest or an 8 hours of sleep since October. I had to resume a month before the date of resumption to start my project work on the school farm; I am working on guinea fowl egg production and it hasn't been easy since school resumed because I have to combine both lectures and farm work together. Walking from farm to lecture halls or home is a journey of 30 minutes because of scarcity of transport vehicles on farm; it is always super stressful. I can't wait to have that break even if it's just for 3 to 5 days, I am expectant.

By December, hopefully I would have resumed fully my career as a graphic designer (visual identity designer). I had to stop for a very long time because my laptop was faulty and required some money that I could not just drop at once. Now, I have my laptop working but still need to get somethings for it to be more efficient. I have started creating designs but then power supply has been total bad, the national grid has collapsed more than 10 times this year already, I think 3 this month. Poor supply of electricity frustrates creatives, especially those of us that are yet to have our own generator or solar system. I really can't wait to start promoting my work and expertise on social media too.

I endeavor to be fully locked in on designing and learning of front-end development before next year. I also want to buy my first few hardcover books before the year runs out.

December is that month where so many people would love to visit their families and friends, I am looking forward to that too. I want to see my parents and siblings, I want to visit the neighbourhood where I grew up, meet my childhood friends. There is something I so much love to do when I am home, watching the sunset as it casts a lovely shadow on the coconut trees and also beautifies the sky with red, yellow and orange colors, the evening air gently blowing. Climb up to the top floor of a church close to my house to watch the sunset till I'm satisfied and can't see it no more.

Christmas season is another that I am looking forward to, that time of the year when the kitchen utensils are all at work. I miss cooking with almost the whole of my family in the kitchen, it was always fun cooking together. I just love the spirit of Christmas, celebrating and sharing in love, many families will be indoor, some having visitors, etc. A reminder of the significance of the ceremony, Jesus is the reason for the season.
