I would love to begin this write-up with the question, whose fault is it? Is it the parent, the government or economy, or the young lady's herself? Many might be wondering what the cause of my question was. Recently, a 21-year-old lady was killed and dumped in a garbage ground in the city where I reside, and it was a sad story because the lady in question is still so very young and pretty. Different questions began to arise on who could have done such a terrible thing to her; many blamed the young lady for being insensitive, greedy, and wayward; some blamed the Nigerian government; while some blamed the deceased parents for not instilling in her the right and proper training as a female child. After reading different articles by bloggers, the first question I asked was, whose fault is it?
Mojisola is a 21-year-old lady who just graduated from a school of technology in Offa, a town in Kwara State where I reside. When I saw her pictures, I was moved to tears because she was a beautiful lady with a promising future, but unfortunately, death snatched her away in her early age. The cause of her death is so saddening because who could have thought a young lady who just graduated would fall into such a trap? This is the reason I always emphasize parents' role in a child's training; looking at the way the present generation Z (new generation) is raising children, it is so inappropriate. I know quite alright that parents can only guide if it is left for the child to choose the path he or she wants to tread. Mojisola tread the wrong path, and this caused her life and glorious destiny.
According to the information posted, she got a call from a friend to come act as a girlfriend for a university male student in Ilorin, another town in Kwara State; this is where I reside for the sum of #15,000. Hearing this alone upsets me. She risked her life for just #15,000? I kept asking myself this question over and over again. She was told a party would be held in Ilorin (the town where she was murdered), and all she had to do was act as a girlfriend to a university male student at the party. Without thinking twice about how true and safe that is, she agreed and traveled from Offa, where she resided, to Irin. I learn she just signed out at school a few days before the incident.
She came to Ilorin and she was lodged in a hotel. On getting there, she saw that nothing as party was going on or about to happen, then she put a call through to her friend in school to tell her the situation of things where she was, and that was the end. It was her friend whom she called who reported the case to the police before Mojisola's dead body was found on a dumping ground. I got to know from the information that it was the hotel management that threw her body on the dumping site. Her real killer wasn't known except for a pastor and his son, who are now suspects in the case. This was how a young, beautiful lady whom her parents would have thought would become great in life and take care of them lost her life just because of #15,000. The question now is, is it worth it?
I have lots of questions going on in my head: "Wasn't she brought up well? Was she influenced by peer pressure? Was it the economy of the country that led her into it? Was it greed or lack of contentment?" These are all the questions left unanswered, which I'm trying my best to find answers to, and that to the best of my knowledge.
WASN'T SHE WELL BROUGHT UP?
This particular question can be answered in two ways: either yes or no. She might have been brought up well and decided to deviate from the path her parents planted her feet on. She is an adult; she can choose not to live the life her parents designed for her instead wanted it her own way. I looked at her pictures during her signout from school and decided to buy her dress. She wore something quite expensive with an expensive phone too. What business was she involved in to be able to afford such at her tender age? That needs to be answered. Are her parents rich enough to provide her with things that expensive? Another question to be answered. Then, if not, then she had a skeleton in her cupboard.
On the other hand, her parents might not train her appropriately. There are parents who are the cause of their children's downfall by sending them out on dangerous lifestyles at a tender age. If her parents are in this category, then they are part of what led to her early grave. There are some parents who encourage immoral acts at a tender age. Asking a 21-year-old lady to start paying bills at home and taking on responsibilities that are not hers at a tender age can ruin such a child's life. I don't know which one is the correct answer to this particular question, but it was a sad story.
WAS SHE INFLUENCED BY PEER PRESSURE?
When a child enters higher institutions, the parents have to intensify building strong relationships between them and their children so that they can open up to them about things going on in their lives. Peer pressure is real, and I have seen it even in my school. The first year when we resumed, everyone still had their home training intact, but the second year, things changed, and some started acting on the pressure from their peers. She might be influenced to do such an act due to the company she kept when she was alive; probably her friends are into such, and she decided to try it too, not knowing that would be her end. She probably has to deal with peer pressure; it takes focus and discipline to overcome peer pressure in higher institutions. She was ready to come to ilorin to act as someone's girlfriend for just #15,000; probably she had been doing that before, so she thought she could just do it and bag #15,000 or more if the guy in question was impressed by her acting.
WAS IT THE COUNTRY'S ECONOMY?
I can't but think about this too; probably she was in need of money when this death opportunity came in. Recently, the economy of the country is not so favorable, and everyone is looking for a means of survival. Some are going to the extreme in search of money, and they are ready to do anything once money is involved. What could be the reason behind her murder? Was she wanting to be used, or was she being used for ritual? Was she killed because she wanted to escape? Who knows? All these questions are still unanswered, as no one could provide answers to them. But yet, in this unfavorable economy, we can see young ladies making an impact in life through one or two skills without having to go into immoral acts.
Recently, a 22-year-old friend of mine collaborated with the United Nations on human trafficking, especially child trafficking, and she came in second. This is a lady who is willing to make an impact in life positively without trading it for a sum of money as cheap as #15,000. As a young lady, there are many opportunities to earn a righteous living these days without going into immoral acts, but it's so disheartening that lots of our ladies these days are just too lazy to do the right thing; they all want a shortcut to success, which later turns to their damnation.
WAS IT GREED OR LACK OF CONTENTMENT?
This is another question I considered; she must have done that out of greed, because I kept imagining how someone would take such a risk just because of #15,000. Now her parents are in pain after investing so much in her academics, waiting for her to graduate and secure a job to support the family, but then she is no more. She can't be blamed because no one knew what the real and true story was. This is to serve as a lesson to every young girl who wants a shortcut to life, lacks contentment, and is willing to do anything to get money. Also to the young boys, or should I say men, who want to get rich without working hard for it. There are consequences for every action; this is why we must be very careful in our dealings.
Thanks for your time, and your comments will be appreciated.

Both the girl and government are to blame, the economy is bad yes but going down that road was not an option.
Hmm definitely not an option
