I have been living with dogs since my childhood. The first dog we got was a caucasian mixed breed. She got hit by a car, and it took us a while to get over her. We didn't get a dog after her until years later when we got Boerboel. He is very aggressive to outsiders but he was a loving dog to us. He is overprotective, playful, and always happy. He reminded me of how it felt to have a dog after losing our first dog.
I still remember a day my bro took him out for a walk. He was so aggressive even the passer-by felt uneasy. One of my bro friends wanted to greet him, and since he was not familiar, the dog immediately attacked him, like he was protecting him from his friend.
While we still had the Boerboel with us, we got another dog, a Rottweiler. This was the weirdest dog I have ever seen haha. He can be very playful but He is not so friendly, he is kinda antisocial. But one thing I love about him is that he is very smart, and he also loves to investigate, sniffing everywhere.
My brother is now staying with us with his pit bull. His female pitbull is the calmest dog ever. She's adorable, very clingy, and loves to sleep. She is not aggressive and very friendly with strangers. I used to believe pit bulls were aggressive until I lived with one. I don't know if all pit bulls are the same, but our pit bull is more of a princess, she is so soft, and friendly, and doesn't like to stress herself. She even rarely barks.
In conclusion, I can't say I have a favourite breed because I haven't had experience with a lot of breeds, so it is somewhat hard for me to pick a favourite. However, if I had to pick from the ones I have lived with, I'd say my favourite is the Pitbull followed by the Boerboel breed. I could have chosen the Boerboel first, but I guess they are too aggressive or maybe they can be trained to be less aggressive. However, If I want to have a dog, I will go with a pit bull first. They are the sweetest breed of dog to have. They are so versatile, they can work perfectly as an indoor dog or guard dog. I could have the Boerboel as a second dog.
I love all dog breeds regardless, but from my experience, I will say my favourite breeds a pitbull and boerboel.
