Don't even know if it still feels like a Christmas song to me anymore because it's the only song that makes me listen to Christmas songs even in the middle of the year when Christmas celebration is far from the date and when the just celebrated one is almost forgotten, lol.
Musics, I will always say are the greatest gifts to humans, not only is it soothing to the ear, but it also plays a therapeutic role too and the most interesting thing is that they don't disappoint us.. they're always with us through thicks and thins, lol.
Musics comes in various genres which is a broad classification of the kinds of musics such as highlife, hip hops, traps e.t.c and same way, they've got musics for different seasons and occasions.... There are songs for weddings, parties, Easter and Christmas songs and so on and so forth.
There are countless Christmas songs and this is the period when you keep hearing them nonstop. Most of them being very wonderful but in all, there's always one that stands out.
However, for my best Christmas song, it is really not the song that stood out, it was the crew as a whole.. Pentatonix Crew.
I stumbled upon Pentatonix crew about a decade ago but the funny thing was that I didn't discover them during the Christmas season, but in a random moment when Someone was just randomly playing their songs and I was amazed at how they could make out songs so perfect just with hums. Just with their jaw-dropping renditions of Christmas classics is enough to make you have the best Christmas ever.
You need to hear these hums, sweet melodious vocals, tight harmonies and perfect beatboxing, however, Just in partial fulfillment of the post about me picking a particular song, let's talk about "Mary, Did You Know?"
The song starts off with the lead vocals of Scott Hoying accompanied with Kirstin Maldonado’s l harmonies; then there’s Mitch Grassi’s angelic tone that I would have said is synonymous to the heavenly angels' tone if I've been to heaven, lol and alongside my very own continent member, an African in the name of Kevin Olusola’s beatboxing.
Together, they make it not just a Christmas song but one to reckon onto all year-round.
The emotional outpour into every note makes this song stand out. The lyrics of the song is also a wonderful one with pentatonix crew rhetorically asking Mary, the mother of Jesus if she knew that her son would one day walk on water and the rest of the other lyrics reminding us of the magnitude of what we celebrate.
But, beyond everything else, what I love about this pentatonix crew is their uniqueness; they make something out of nothing and yet gets to the top of their show.
This is just one out of many of their songs as they've got a full album of Christmas songs; the likes of "Hallelujah, O Holy Night, The First Noel, Carol of Bells and Little Drummer Boy" and all of them have got their unique touch.
I'm certainly sure this will be an album you will love; you won't regret it.
Here are just three of their songs for your consumption 🤭
