The festive season is one a lot of us look up to. There's a certain kind of joy it carries. The festive season is beautiful. It is mostly characterized by lots of love and celebration. People gift each other. Households prepare their best meals and share with neighbours.
It is expected that many, if not everyone, has begun preparing for the festive period at the end of the year. I am not left out. I have already started making my plans. Let's have a deep dive into my plans.
Starting from last month, I have been keeping aside a certain percentage of my earnings. This is to enable me to save up enough to get the things I need for the festive period. I started saving on time so that I could save up enough on time to get what I want. A major feature of the festive season in Nigeria is inflation.
The price of things at the market, especially food products, go up. It is ridiculous. Sellers take advantage of the high demand during the festivities and hike prices. This act keeps repeating year after year. With that in mind, I made that decision to save so that I can buy the crucial things I need before the festive period comes, so that I don't have to spend a ridiculous amount of money getting something I would have gotten cheaper earlier in the year.
Another thing I have been doing is planning. Planning is essential for me. I am making plans for how I will celebrate in the coming festive period. I have made a list of the things I would need to make the festivities an amazing one and I have allocated money for that. I am also making plans of where and how I will celebrate with my friends and family.
In the spirit of love and giving, I intend to give out a lot in the coming festive period. I want to donate what I can to orphanages. I also want to give out to the less privileged. I plan to give out food, clothes and any other thing I can give. For me, the festive season is about love, and those who have nothing and are disadvantaged deserve love. So I intend to make available everything I intend to give out on time.
The festivities would not be complete if they were not spent with family. Last Christmas, I celebrated with my entire family and some friends. We hung out, played games, discussed. In a nutshell, we had all manner of fun. It was one of my best celebrations ever. One I would not forget in a hurry. I want to repeat that. I want a celebration as amazing as that or even more this year.
In conclusion, the festive period is all about making good memories. Memories are what we hold on to. I still have memories of previous festive seasons. I want to make more memories. Wonderful memories. Making these memories with family and friends makes us bond even more.
Gratitude is a huge deal for me. Not everyone makes it to the end of the year. My celebration this coming festive period would be with a lot of gratitude in my heart.
