Life has its unique ways of changing and reshaping our ways of thinking and overall perspectives about life, and these are usually a result of our personal day-to-day life experiences that tend to leave a lasting impact on us. For me, my perspective about life changes or adds a new side to it with each passing day experience, reminiscing through my life experiences. I can say for a fact that my perspective about life presently isn't what it used to be, and that's as a result of happenings around me; for instance, things I used to worry about are no longer deemed significant, and that's because the values I cherished presently are as a result of lessons life taught me.
Growing up, one of my biggest beliefs was that hard work and discipline are the key ingredients to success in life, and although I still hold onto that, my mindset shifted after a particular experience during my undergraduate days at the university. There's this particular coursemate of mine who tends to miss lectures and instead delves into different fraudulent activities online to make money. To be honest, I really don't know how he scams his victims because he's far from intelligent.
I mean, I can bet he can't even spell his name correctly, but at the end of the day, when our results come out, he usually has one of the best results, making us, the dedicated and hardworking students, look unserious. We all know he's bribing his way to those results, and these just made me have the understanding that life isn't always about effort, nor is it fair; sometimes it's about what you have, who you know, and how much you're willing to give for what you want, especially in a country like ours where the right way isn't cherished anymore.
Another major shift that influences my perspective about life is regarding my understanding of financial stability and independence. Take, for instance, in the past I usually went out of my way to help others around me even at my own expense, but at the end of the day they ended up taking these for granted or not fulfilling their side of the bargain, and with this I come to understand that while generosity is a noble act, one must equally set boundaries, and this understanding comes when I lend a friend some money because of his ordeal at the time. I mean, this was me helping despite being seriously ill myself at the time and telling him how I'll need the funds back for something important. That particular experience taught me an important lesson: that being kind shouldn't come at the expense of my well-being, and since then I've made it a point of duty to be intentional about how I help people and ensure it doesn't cost me my own stability.
Lastly, one aspect I'll be talking about today regarding how my perspective about life has changed over time is regarding my view on success. You see, in the past I used to have the belief that material achievement, such as what I acquire, how much I have, and how fast I progress, is the definition of success, but over time that has changed, as I've come to realize that the definition of success is unique to each individual's understanding. For example, the case of a friend of mine who lost his job and yet found other means to make ends meet and even thrive beyond those of us who are with jobs. Overall, that situation made me understand we all have our individual journey and path to success, making me prioritize fulfillment over financial gain regardless of if it makes my progress slower.
Overall, life experiences have taught me to embrace patience, contentment, and adaptability even though I'll keep striving for more; after all, in the end, my journey is mine, and as time passes, I know I might have other changes in perspective based on what happens then, but I know regardless there are some moral values I won't breach regardless.

This is an amazing post, I have also had different perspectives to life lately, when I lost my younger sister in 2019, someone asked if she had an abortion because he thought young girls don't just sleep and not wake up except they have done something fishy, but I can bet she died as a virgin, though young but I know a lot of her age mates who have done a lot of terrible things, yet still alive. Well, that was when I learnt to prioritize my happiness and go easy on myself no matter what I'm going through cause you can only achieve while alive, once death comes it's all over.
Oh mine 🥹, so sorry about your younger sister, I never knew.
That's people for you, they tend to jump to conclusion because of what young people of nowadays does, but then it's well.
Each life experience thought us valuable lessons that reshape our perspective about life.
Very true, the more you live the more you learn and every experience makes a better version of you.
