Nature, Serenity, and Adventure: My Festive Dream Destination

in Hive Naija4 days ago

As the festive season is upon us, there are several things we wish to do or places we wish to visit but couldn't due to one constraint or another, such as money and time. Personally, for me, given where I'm craving to pay a visit to at the moment, I won't say money is the problem, but time, and in this article I'll be telling you all about that place I wish to visit and what I'll do when I'm there.

I'm a lover of the festive season, especially Christmas, and I always look forward to it, even though I don't buy the storyline behind Christmas, yet I'm a big fan of it as it's an opportunity for me to relax, rejuvenate, and spend time with my family and friends; however, given the fact that I don't plan on travelling this year, one place that has been in my mind to visit is the Lekki Conservation Centre, here in Lagos, where I reside.

To be fair, Lekki isn't far from where I'm based compared to other parts of Lagos, meaning transportation won't be much of a problem, and neither will the entrance fee that's said to be 4000 naira for adults, but then, though I crave the idea of being around nature and enjoying the serenity of such a luxury, time and my inability to convince someone to go alongside me is what's depriving me of going.

Just a few days ago I paid a visit to the beach with some of my colleagues at work, and it was interesting. I remembered I've on several occasions wanted to visit the beach, but the idea of going alone just doesn't sit well with me, and when the plan to visit it as a colleague came up, I jumped on it and enjoyed every single second spent there. Well, if the constraints of time, money, and not going alone aren't an issue, then I'll definitely love to visit the Lekki Conservation Centre.

This is a place I've seen on several occasions on the TV, on my friend's status, and not forgetting how I've read a lot about it, and given my love for nature and the different species that are said to be housed in that park, I just can't help but always envision myself there in person, feeding my sight with the beauty of nature, from animals to green life and rare species that I've never seen before.

Also, there's this tall walking track in the park that I've seen many of my friends walk over when they visited the place, and I'd love to test if I'll be brave enough to do something as well. I remember seeing the same thing at the University of Ilorin Zoology Park but was too afraid to give it a try, and since the Lekki Conservation Centre is more like a strong throw to my place compared to Ilorin, I guess it'll be an opportunity to test my courage once again.

I learned that the Lekki Conservation Centre houses over 350 species of birds, and I just can't imagine what they all look like; it'll be a beauty to behold, and I'm sure Feather's friends will find it intriguing. Alongside those are other animals, trees, lakes, and the likes, and I'm just here imagining myself savoring the moment I'll spend there and the satisfaction I'll get from beholding all of those in the serene safe haven of nature at the Lekki Conservation Centre.

Aside from all those experiences I look forward to having and enjoying, one other notable thing I'd love to do is snap as many pictures as possible so that even when I leave and get back home, I can easily glance through the pictures and savor the experience I had as I swipe through each one of them, not forgetting they'll help in my quest for images in some of my content that revolves around nature.

I have actually heard alot about lekki conversation center but I haven't been there at all. Visiting there and just travelling to lagos is definitely something I would consider if money and time was never an issue for me.

Yea it'll be worth it and I wish you all the best in one of these days to bring that dream to a reality.

Thank you so much.
