It's quite unfortunate that once people get into any position of power, they forget that nothing is permanent. Law of Karma, what you give is what you receive. This reminds me of a story my boss once told me, he said, "Being in a position of power gives you the chance to bring up as many people as possible, and one way or another, all those help you give out will find its way back to you". If you help someone's children to get education and someday later in life, they're also in positions of power, surely your own children will get benefited too.
There are so many adages that refers to life as a place where you reap what you sow. It's quite unfortunate that people often forget that after attaining the power. Nothing is permanent.
I know a good man who got to the peak of his career. Even way before then, he had always helped as many people as he could. He rather helped people more as he became bigger on his way to the top. He's retired now, but I know it's just a matter of time he reaps the fruit of his labour all these years, or at least the generations after him will. That's someone that was very powerful yet humble and generour, a true leader I admire myself.
And that's genuinely how it should be.
