The lyrics for this song has been floating around between myself and my life long friend Johnny Gearjammer for a couple of decades. We had full intentions of making it into a full fledged song. Even went so far as to recruit a good friend of our who is a hell of a singer in a local band to sing it. But we could never find the right music to fit the lyrics. So we pushed it onto the back burner and forgot about it.
The lyrics are based on a poem by the same name that was written by John's ex wife. I took John's version of the lyrics and ran them through Grok a couple of times to flesh out the story a little more. Then I input the lyrics into SunoAI to flesh out the music. I think John would be very happy with the way it turned out musicly speaking. A lot of people think that John and I were super hard core metal heads. The louder the better. But we werent. As long as the song conveyed emotion with a story. We were happy.
