We live in a society absolutely dependent on science and technology and yet have cleverly arranged things so that almost no one understands science and technology. That's a clear prescription for disaster

It seems like Carl Sagan may have been one of those who were actually hiding real science and technology, nonetheless, he made a very accurate statement. We just don't know how accurate, because we all think we know something.
We all think science and technology are to thank for our "advanced civilization". We all think that "science and technology" are taught at the universities, to really smart people. And only they understand it.
And, we all have a gnawing fear, that if we lose the "ivory towered smart ones", we wouldn't have a clue about rebuilding our world. Because, we need someone like Einstein to understand it.
But it is all a lie. The whole thing.
The Lie is very deep. The cover-up is deeper
When i talk bad about "modern science" people always shoot back that we owe all of our technology to science. Unfortunately, they are wrong. Doubly wrong.
Things like computer chips are more akin to magic than science. You know, "quantum tunnelling"? A problem that chip manufacturers have run into when trying to make chips smaller? Well, the explanation came after discovering the problem. Science had no say in this. It was running way behind, trying to play catchup.
The engineers working on microchips have overcome many problem, and worked out many word solutions. If these engineers actually paid attention to "modern science" then none of this would have worked.
The PNP junction in a silicon wafer does not work as science says, and so, if anything, the engineers wasted a lot of time following the science.
Nikola Tesla performed many presentations, that modern physicists cannot duplicate. These were presentations performed on command, in from of many newspaper reporters. And so, the modern physicist say that Tesla was a con-man. Because they cannot duplicate what he did. And i mean, they CANNOT do it at all, even if they were to cheat.
If we followed Tesla instead of Einstein, we would be a hundred years more advanced than we are today.
An evil force has derailed our scientific knowledge. So, today we think that we do not understand, that we are too dumb to understand. But, what we don't know is that all of "Modern Materialistic Science" is wrong.
The universe is actually quite simple, or more accurately, simplex. It is a bunch of simple things, making a very complex whole. And, if we taught a real science, most everyone would easily get it.
We can't understand technology because we are not meant to understand it.
The word "SMART" refers to "self-monitoring, analysis, and reporting technology."
A smart illusion of safety and convenience, but actually it's about tricking us into digital control and surveillance.
If i was to design a "smart" meter i would have it display patterns of usages and their costs. At least what the electric customer was being charged right now, for this hour. I would also put in pieces that helped the power company re-energize the lines after a loss of power. There is all kinds of things that could actually be useful in a meter called "smart". But it has none of this. Instead, it hurts people and burns down houses.
And, you are supposed to believe it is "smart", as in intelligent, or intelligently designed.
So, if you believe these things are of good design, then you will always be confused. But we won't really know that until we, the normal people, actually start making real portable computers. Then we will comprehend how unuseful, and poorly working our "smart" phones are.
It is amazing how we just go along with "purchasing" one of these devices knowing that we don't really own it. The manufacturer can brick it at any time. The service provider can make it an expensive lump of glass whenever. The app providers can use "your" speaker and "your" camera whenever they want to… It isn't your phone. And we won't know how bad it is until we see what living without all that spyware is.
On another front, so many things are designed to be a black box. You aren't supposed to work on your car, your fridge, your microwave, your toaster. Men back in the 60s did all these things. But you, you have to break that sticker that says "No user serviceable parts inside". (And that really means that they won't sell you replacement parts)
All of our stuff is designed to not be repaired, not to be understood, and to hide the technology from us. Back in the 60s, people were modifying their cars, and fixing things with parts found in junk yards. Now, all we have is trash heaps, and "smart" phones that purposefully run slower each year until they are added to the land fill.
You have been programmed to believe you are too stupid to comprehend science.
You have been programmed to believe you are too stupid to comprehend modern technology.
But, it is more appropriate to say that these things have been unnecessarily difficult.
They use brain breaking phrases like, "You can be travelling at the speed of light, but light is still travelling faster, and you cannot tell how fast you are going." Don't you feel stupid after having read that?
And, you are told that Einstein was really intelligent, and that it is your fault for not being smart enough to get it.
It is all a lie. The stuff that Carl Sagan put out was all a lie, fully propaganda. Just like Bill Nye. They are actors, putting on an act to keep you feeling stupid so you don't actually look for the truth.
They like to say that science advances one death at a time, however, once the dam is burst, the real science will be taken up by the young generation, and those crusty old geezers in their ivory towers will not know what happened. I mean, they may never realize that their complete body of work was thrown in the dust bin, and that they were forgotten.
Imagine something like Flat Earth being proved correct, but many people still holding on to their globes. One group finding that everything makes sense now, and the other group being like, what happened? Why are globe sales down? (we haven't even invented the math to describe the real shape of earth yet. The future will be exciting)
In the future, we will teach science and physics to grade schoolers and they will easily get it. (the stuff we "teach" in college today) Children will grow up exploring all kinds of things, and there is all kinds of things to explore.
Science has not explored everything and the only thing left is to fill in all the the little bits. Although, that is what Modern Materialistic Science wants you to believe.
