Germany takes Italy to UN court over Nazi-era compensation claims

The new reports have confirmed that the Germany government have filed a cast against Italy at the United nation's highest court and the reason for their actions was over attempts within Italy to claim compensation for the Nazi-era war crimes...

According to the submission which they made to the International Court of Justice (ICJ), Germany government said that the Italy government continues to allow the cases in its domestic courts despite the 2012 ruling that confirmed that such claims were inadmissible.

And It says that, since the ruling actually occurred , over twenty new cases have actually been filed in Italy.

And In some of those, the courts have actually ruled that Germany should pay compensation..

The Berlin authorities confirmed that it is bringing the complaint now because of the two ongoing cases that could see many of the properties in Rome which is owned by the German state seized to actually finance the compensation payments...

And the court in Italy have said that it will make itself decisions by 25th of May concerning whether they should force the sale of the certain buildings, some of which do house German cultural, historical, and their educational institutions.

This is a dispute which actually dates back to 2008, when the Italy's highest court ruled that Germany should pay up to €1m (£840,000) to all the relatives of the nine people who were among the 203 killed who were killed by the german forces in Tuscany in 1944...

Germany argues that they have already paid out the billions of euros to countries that were impacted by the World War II since the conflict ended in 1945.

It could really take alot of years for the ICJ to issue rulings, but Germany government is askkng the court to take effective and great measures to put a stop to Italy auctioning off any property while its broader case is actually being considered....
