She was installed and it was calculated. Calculated with very bad math but honestly, there wasn't enough time to have another primary and they knew Joe was cooked, it was a hail mary that isn't going to work. I hope (probably in vain) that history will look back on this election as a sad day for elections. It upsets me that USA is so critical of other countries' elections while having garbage ones themselves.

Agreed!
Funny though. I elected not to vote for president yesterday, then found myself rooting for Trump when the results started coming in. I knew I would not like what a Dem administration would do to us, and Repub is a bit, at least, unclear.
according to the total tallies it seems like a lot of people sat this one out but it is easier to understand why you in NY would feel as though going to the polls is a waste of time. It would be like a liberal standing in line on a Tuesday in Oklahoma. There's no point.
The point of not going at all is the only difference I really can make here. I'm registered Dem, so it looks like one fewer Dems turned out, and this one has voted in every election since 1973. A tiny message, I know.
There is a growing amount of people that are disenfranchised by the entire voting premise. I was speaking to someone from Australia the other day and found out that it is REQUIRED by law that everyone has to vote. That country has turned into something very authoritarian and my opinion of it has changed dramatically over the past decade or so.
Those people who have the solidified belief systems think Australia and especially New Zealand handled the covid (con) really well. They want to be imprisoned at the drop of a hat.
