I browse through Yahoo News not because it is a good source of news but because it can be kind of amusing to see how they will go after anything, and I mean ANYTHING that DJT says to try to make it seem as bad as possible. The comments section of Yahoo News consists almost entirely of liberals, so everyone just dogpiles on and congratulates themselves for all agreeing with one another on a site that of course they are going to agree with one another. It's stupid for the most part, but the comments section can be quite amusing to see how incredibly worked up people get in their echo chamber as they all join in the chant that was always going to go their way anyhow.
It is extremely rare that they are able to have an article that so much as has the world "Trump" in it where anyone, let alone most people, will end up agreeing with something that the President-elect says or does but I think I finally found something that is so innocuous that everyone was proudly agreeing with the orange man about.

There are a lot of places that are reporting on this but I wouldn't have heard about it if I hadn't perused Yahoo on that day. Please don't start reading Yahoo by the way, it's trash and I only go there to amuse myself with how absurd the public are these days when it comes to politics.

while I am sure a few heads exploded that Time Magazine has named Trump as "Person of the year" the people had a hard time finding fault with Trump's proposal to do away with changing the clocks twice a year. There is a lot of talk about how daylight savings time was first introduced to give farmers "more time" to do their jobs but this is a load of nonsense. As someone who has relatives that actually were farmers I can assure you that they do not stick to any particular schedule based on what a clock says, it's not like they clock in for a paycheck. Farmers wake up at "butt o' clock" every day and get as much work done in the light as possible. What time it says on the wall has zero bearing on when they decided to get the job done.
In reality daylight savings time was first introduced by those baddies the Germans during World War 1 as a method of conserving energy for the war effort and they did so to eliminate 1 hour a day of using artificial lighting. Please stop telling people that it was introduced for farmers, it is nonsense. Don't believe me? Well read about it here then.
So in this AP article Trump is quoted as saying that "Daylight Savings Time is inconvenient and costly to our nation." I agree with the first part but the second sentiment there is a bit dubious. Costly how?
Anyway, the comments section of basically anything on Yahoo is normally filled with the most vitriolic stuff that you can find on a moderated forum and the downvotes fly aplenty for anyone that doesn't tow the liberal line. As silly as it sounds, there are 1 and a half THOUSAND comments on this article and I'm still digging for someone in there that is saying some sort of "Orange Man Bad" comment that is ubiquitous in anything that appears on Yahoo.
Nancy can find fault in anything that Trump says though, and it was kind of nice and surprising to see that the only vote on her comment was a downvote. Some people are so addled with TDS that something as completely non-partisan as addressing the annoyance that is changing your clocks twice a year invokes a hatred response from some people.
There are a few regular participants that try to get the crowd all riled up and as you can see with the downvotes, this guy got 'em!
I was unaware of the fact that Arizona and Hawaii don't participate in Daylight Savings Time and haven't for a while. I've always just kind of forgot that it was happening and if my phone and computers didn't do it for me automatically I wouldn't even know about it.
I think there actually are people out there that are going to disagree with this extremely sensible decision to do away with it. Seriously, how does it benefit anyone?
It's nice to see that for once the comments section was civil in Yahoo but at the same time it was a bit disappointing because I do get some enjoyment seeing how incredibly livid people get about a puff piece on a news website that almost nobody even pays attention to.
Th cost aspect is something tat I would love to hear more on as I cannot see how there is a cost implication. The time is not lost and I know I appreciated the time adjustment whilst living in the UK as there is nothing worse going and returning from work or school in the dark.
