I have tried out most of the alternative things you mentioned but Gab is basically Twitter, which is something I never liked very much so I'm unlikely to use it. I've only just started getting involved with Odysee. It's gonna take a long time to get people off of Youtube though, that's for sure. There isn't any other platform that can really compete with that yet.

Correct Gab is essentially Twitter. Minds is essentially Facebook and Odysee is YouTube. No one is going to be active on all communities for the simple reason that there's not enough time in the day and, as you pointed out, not everyone has the same interests. But they're there. We see banned Reddit groups creating their own platform and thriving (The_Donald became patriots.win) and this is just the tip of the iceberg.
