Commentary:

It is really sounding like Biden is about to turn all student load debt into national debt.

Why would they offer degrees containing abstract knowledge that can't be converted into money? Why would anybody buy knowledge that can't be converted into money? Doesn't make allot of sense in this world, maybe if you were living onboard the Enterprise and there was no money to worry about. Yeah, sure, just take whatever appeals to you the most.
Government is looking for whys to inflate the dollar any way they can, so off it goes. Watch we will have monorails going in all over the place next. The monorail sales guy will be jumping the nearest plain out of the country with his suite case full of money. Government will be like, " well hey, the guy broke into a song and did a music number! What were we suppose to do? Not buy it?"

Knowledge is power. What kind of power? Money power? Is all knowledge, "power". I'm pretty sure the answer is no. Some knowledge doesn't have any real use for society, there for no one will part with their money for it.

Post secondary has become a bit of a bait and switch when it comes to offing knowledge that isn't in demand.

Kind of reminds me of the healthcare system, at least in Canada. They always talk about how expensive all of it is, and it bring up the question, why is this so expensive.

So, why is tuition so expensive? You think it might have something to do with the government making it really easy for students to get loans? Opening up those fluid gates with easy access money? Messing with the free market?

Anyone know any good ways to figure out which jobs are actually in demand out in the world? What would a person do? Google search businesses that offer certain services? See how many there are?

I find it interesting, if a person wants to buy a business, a bank will want to see that businesses accounting records, and they will ask the potential buyer for a plausible business plan. But when it comes to post secondary, suddenly it's like getting Halloween candy.

I wonder if education could be free or what the price of it should be. With an open Internet anyone can learn as much as they want on anything they are curious about. Going to the universities is not just about what you learn but can also be an opportunity to make connections.

It's true, in 2022, a line of videos could be matched up to any curriculum complete with a comments section for full collective discussions and insights. Interesting things about videos is, you can replay them 200 times over if you like. There is a bit of a game on, no employer really has a way to recognize the knowledge of an internet media junkie. Getting a degree does have a certain proof of work ethic and persistence about it. Converting knowledge into money is typically done via an employers, although, that doesn't always have to be the case.

When I was in high school, it was just before the birth of You Tube. I'm not even sure if Google was in existence yet, if it did it was it had no salience with me yet. I'm thinking, I sure could have used a back door or two for knowledge access.
