So far these are your possibilities:
They have a new mRNA flu shot right around the corner.
They have two new RSV shots, one already authorized (meaning not officially approved but authorized for emergency use), that one is a Pfizer, Moderna is right around the corner with an mRNA RSV vaccine.
Several articles speculating on a cross over to humans of this new deadlier bird flu than doing a mix up with someone who has covid....now one could speculate this is where maybe the combo flu/covid shots come in but so far these are your options.
I do foresee a much more severe RSV season coming this fall than the warm up they gave us last fall. There was a shortage of childrens fever reducers and asthma (albuterol liquid form for nebulizers and use in hospitals last year) medications needed to treat children. I'd recommend a stock up on childrens fever reducers for the coming season and buying a bottle of Providone Iodione at Walmarts, usually ten bucks a bottle, seen it the other day for about eight bucks but a bottle will last eons as you mix 1 cc PI to 9 cc distilled water. Use a Q tip to dip into the solution and swab around inside one side the nose, flip the Q tip, dip it again and do the other side. This helps prevent viruses from entry into the nasal cavity, the main route of virus transmission. I use this for doctor/dentist and large crowd situations. I know as adults when it comes to actual nasal sprays with PI in it they don't recommend going past six months of daily use. Like I said I only use it when needed so I am pretty safe if there's a full blown something going about using it more frequently. As far as using with children I am not to sure about but since it does not enter the body, or inhale like in a nasal spray I think I'd take my chances using that than giving a kid an experimental shot.
