@dynamicsteemians, I'm the one who discovered @logiczombie was downvoting new users - I noticed some last week as I was curating for the Love Sniper newbie initiative, then discussed it with him in the FreezePeach Discord. Essentially he said he was testing something, and had downvoted 70 newbies over the course of a couple of weeks (15 of which I found), then removed his downvotes after 5 days.
Here are the first two I found (and left comments explaining they weren't at fault for the downvotes) -

Here's the hiveblocks link showing he removed his downvote from the first one a couple of days ago (although the trail following him still remains) -

I was informed about the approach that was used by logic to prove a point about the 0.1% downvotes that are applied randomly to people. Not saying I approve of fighting fire with fire or condone the actions of small dvs on new users to prove a point to the community.
Were these downvotes larger than 1% and did it affect their reputation? Certainly it could be viewed as discouraging and not encouraging for new users to continue their Hive journey.
I do not agree with this approach by zombie. There is healthier ways to find solutions to perceived problems.
I don't recall the percent, but their reputation was definitely affected (knocked down to 18 or 19 I believe), which is why I upvoted with my personal account to bring them back up. And there were multiple downvotes on each post, as he apparently has a small trail following his downvotes.
And in my experience, any time I've seen a spaminator downvote (I'm assuming that's what he's referencing, and not the other random small downvotes from those who shall not be named for fear of awakening their bots...lol) and I looked into the account, I discovered there was a reason for them, and they weren't just some random thing. I'm not saying there might not be cases that happens, just that I've never encountered them.
I have had adamdumbc.... that v2skull fristken guy and others auto downvote my dynamicgreentk account which is part of why I have been using other accounts to post.
I don't want to jinx anything, but I just took a quick peek and it seems to have been well over a month since either account has been active.
Hopefully, that is the case but I kind of felt like the front end owners just censored them out justifiably so. But either way that is good news!
Yep, I know they got muted by most frontends, but I was going by their activity tabs on PeakD, which isn't something that can be censored (as far as I know, anyway). And I agree & hope the good news continues!
