I love a good ghost story 👻
Domo Arigato @dbooster san.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it! I do too.

I love stories like this!

Me too! Japan has tons of them too.

Yuki Onna is so famous! Of all the legends, this is the first I know. It's also present in some animes and mentioned in tv dramas. I also have a book detailing her story.

It does show up everywhere, doesn't it? I did a google search for images and was amazed that most of the results were anime stills.

Spoooooky! 😶‍🌫️

Didn't mean by to sound spammy with just one word, but ghost stories always send shivers down my back

I know what you mean. Good ghost stories give those spooky vibes that just chill you to the bone and stay with you after hearing them.

Eery... How old is the original story?

Hmm... well Sōgi was alive in the 15th century, so that was the first written story, but we don't know when people first started talking about it.

Nevermind. When I read this it reminded me of a similar story I heard in a UFO/Alien context. But in the meantime, I remembered that it was a Chinese story. Sadly couldn't find it, I saw that like three years ago. I vaguely remember that it was a story about a woman with incredible beauty that seems to never age, that came on a boat from an unknown origin. Haha, sorry can't remember much else.

I love yukionna story a lot. I wrote about her with my picture before. I believe that I saw her when I was young with my brother. When I drew her, even just drawing, I was scared. You feel or see Yukionna in Hokkaido. Maybe we can feel or see her in Tohoku as well.

I love your Kaidan topic very much.

Did you see her before? Oh that has to be a great story... I want to hear it. Did you write about it on Hive?

And that's great artwork! I like it!

Yeah, I wrote it before but probably the art community didn't like it. They downvoted it and blocked me from the community so maybe you can't read it through this link. The story was very simple (below). Strangely, I didn't turn around but I remember her face. That's why I could draw this. Believe it or not, she was very beautiful like your post's photo images.

One snowy day, I was playing with my younger brother in a snow dome. We both noticed that the air was changing and suddenly we started having a blizzard. My brother looked scared and he said “I gotta go home!” and he ran away. I wanted to run after him but I also had to clean up our toys and sled. Suddenly I noticed some energy behind me. I froze for a second. However, I didn’t look back. I ran very quickly even though the snow was getting heavier and heavier.

Finally, I put all of the toys and stuff in my shed, I went inside my house but again, I still felt something behind me. I never turned around.

Inside my house, I searched for my brother but I couldn’t find him easily. As soon as I heard giggling from my grandmother’s living room, I noticed that he was fine. When I opened the door, I saw he was smiling and eating an orange in front of the warm stove. I didn’t say anything and sat down next to him and started eating an orange as well. We never talked about the energy we felt in the snow dome.

That's a shame they downvoted it. I don't see how it breaks any rules... Oh well, it's their loss.

What a scary story! I can easily imagine that experience.
