Dissapointment is a feeling of displeasure towards a hope which isn’t fulfilled.
There is no way we won’t face disappointment in one way or the other because it is part of life and no one can escape it.
While, we will surely face disappointment in our lives, we can be the ones to disappoint people as well. We’re humans and never perfect.
My disappointment experience
The fact that I’m kind doesn’t mean I’m stupid. People are opportunists and maybe want to take advantage of your kindness.
I’m the kind of person who loves to entertain my visitors with the little things I have at home. There comes this girl, Pelumi, my friend. She comes to my place frequently and I entertain her well. Sometimes, I cook or even order food for her depending on how buoyant I am.
I am the kind of person who treats people the exact way they treat me.
One night, I visited Pelumi because she comes to my place a lot and I wanted to return the energy. On visiting my friend, there was no food at home and I expected her to at least buy food but guess what? She asked us to go to a provision store around her and each person paid for what we ate.
How will the person whom I entertain so well when she comes around tell me to fund my bills? It’s quite understandable if she’s not buoyant but that wasn’t the problem.
I felt very bad about it and I was disappointed in her. At the end, I realized that so many people just want to take from you and never want to give out.
Facts about dissapointment
It breaks trust and the cordial relationship. I didn’t want to act like a hungry person but truly, I was disappointed by her. Since then, I’ve had some second thoughts about her and that deteriorated our friendship .
Secondly, as the one who disappointed the other party, you will be sidelined. That may not really matter but when it comes to serious cases that you’re meant to be aware of, you won’t be informed or included because you’re known to be a disappointment.
Dissapointment happens and is never a new thing but we should try not to ever be a source of disappointment to people. It can be heartbreaking.
Once a person disappoints you, it becomes difficult to trust them again.
