Prevention is better than cure they say but sadly not Everyone has the money to prevent some kind of illness even when they know what is wrong with them. Some people don't like going to the hospital because of the fear of what the doctor will say about their health.
I have always gone to the hospital at least twice a year to check my health status, just so I won't be taken unaware at any point but for two years now I haven't done that because I was having financial issues. So apart from malaria and typhoid, and abdominal scan test I don't think I have done any other test in a long while.
My first experience going for a full medical check-up was when I started work at Genesis Group of company. First, they made me go through a frivolous training for two weeks and I was happy cause at that point I needed money for upkeep.
So I thought that after the training, I would be employed but they said one more training before we will be employed and out of twenty-one only nine people will be employed. I was very scared, I didn't know if I would be among them and I needed the money badly.
On the day of the test, some people refused to show up, I guess because of fear or because they already knew their problem and it might stop them from being employed. My height was checked weight and finger test, saliva test, HIV, and another test that I can't even remember but one of the tests that I was told to do was a stool test that was the hardest as if my village people followed me (badluck). For three days I couldn't stool and after that third day, I was told that if I couldn't stool, I would be disqualified.
I finally stool, and when the result came out I thought that it will be given to is to give to the company by ourselves but instead, they sent it to the company by themselves. Two weeks passed and they didn't call me to start work. I become scared , thinking something most be wrong with me medically and the employed other and not me.
That's how I went I rerun the test back on my own and everything was fine, the day that I collected my result I was asked to resume work. I was angry cause I had wasted the money for no reason. Although I was scared of what they would find out with h.i.v flying around, having the knowledge that it's not only sex but needles, cuticles, and razors, I used to be careless at times with those objects before I found out. So that was why I was scared.
I don't blame people when they say doctors must find one illness, if you go for regular medical check-ups, it is true but that shouldn't stop anyone from checking their health.
Remember health is wealth, it is only the living that makes or earns a living.

Health is wealth indeed and I think you were lucky to finally get the job. I can imagine how you felt when you had difficulty stooling. Indeed, regular medical check-up is a must for anyone that values their life.
