Electricity is a source of motivation to create and innovate. Many people might think my definition of electricity is insane, but if you spend a year in my country (Nigeria), you will understand why such a definition is profound.
My country is one of the richest countries in the world, with so many natural resources, but many problems have stopped us from tapping into the blessing hidden in the land of Nigeria and today we will be discussing the electricity aspect.
Do you know that it will be very difficult to think and create ideas in a place where 70% of your work needs electricity to function but the power supply is not there? Now this is the case for people living in Lagos State, Nigeria. Some people might say we are lucky because we got the opportunity to experience 12 to 15 hours of power supply daily and the truth is that they are right.
While I was in my parent's place in Ogijo, Ogun State. We don't get to experience power supply every day; there is something called "One day on, one day off," and that's the system for the power supply they use in Ogijo. The electricity will be supplied on Monday, and for Tuesday, expect nothing. Many claim the reason was to help the transformer rest, while others believe the electricity was sold to some nearby company.
One thing I am happy about is that we have both the prepaid meter, where we get to buy the number of units we want to use from the electricity, which means we don't get rigorous bills from the power company. The amount of units bought is what we would use, and if it finishes, we buy more. The main blessing for the power supply is that we also have a solar panel and inverter. Our electricity is always active but what of those who don't have this privilege?
One thing remains certain: once the electricity is gone and my gadget goes off, all forms of creativity in me die, and this is why the power supply is very important to me. Sadly, the power that is supplied by the power-holding company is not enough to help other creative minds show how creative they can be because of poor power supply.
In a nutshell, we don't get to enjoy power supply like other people do, and this has become a setback for many businesses and individuals. I hope this changes one day so we all can grow as a country.
Thanks for reading.

Without electricity you function less, that's why the holders are really suffering humans like say tomorrow no dey, but there is God
Yes Yes, without electricity. Just imagine your fan is off, phone, tv, laptop, no water and every other thing that needs electricity to function. The functioning power in you will also go down.
I hope for a change to.
We all do
It is appalling the way the power supply is so unstable in the country. You can't make use of it for anything beneficial.
In my residence, we have not had electric power supply for about two weeks now. I rely on generator to power my gadgets.
whaoo, two weeks. How can someone now be productive, especially when they have to rely on electricity to do their work
My brother if you ask me, who make me I ask? 😂😂😂
The matter tire everybody o
Here I am wishing for a one day on and one day off light supply.
This is Nigeria.
I won't complain more again because my light bill is little.
One day one day, you will leave the place you are for a better place with constant electrity.
Amen oo
Because light is life.
Very true
In Akwa Ibom State, we've enjoyed stable power supply. It is not constant, but it has been stable.
That's nice, not all state can say this.
It must feel so good not having to depend on supplied electricity before getting things done. It’s another year and we still have to complain of electricity, it’s terrible.
It’s really terrible
Since morning we haven’t had like but thanks to the inverter
